We dominated the game. It's another we lost they didn't win situation which still sucks cause 4 points is 4 points.

But it won't be heads down from the boys. They'll back themselves next week.

No idea how they fix the goal kicking. Seemed to be a lot of cross body shank which can be tried legs.

We should've won at least three last year. And only one of those was the Womens.

If Charlie is injured he shouldn’t play, if he is not well you cannot afford to have a player running around doing nothing and then muffing the chance they get. Lohmann is a flakey half forward who doesn’t tackle. This shit about playing in 2nd gear and then ramping up for finals is utter crap. It’s putting it in players heads they can give less than 100% at every contest, which you can’t if you want to win, as we saw today. Please don’t let Hipwood anywhere near the backline ever again.

In fairness, GWS kicked a lot of low percentage goals, they could not and likely will not kick better all year.

Brissy will get better, they'll be hard to stop when they do.

I really like morris without eric. He stands up - likes being the main man. Clearly doesn't have the same respect for Day that he does for eric, which is fine.

Thought Day was fine. Better than earlier in the year.

This isn't going to be popular but blaming this on goal-kicking is lazy analysis. You'd bank on Cal to hit his snap, and Bailey is more likely to kick 2.1 than 1.2, but what gimme shots did we miss? People are fixated on goal-kicking because by comparison GWS were ridiculous.

Zorks intercepted well but only 5 score involvements would indicate not a lot was generated from his disposals

The most glaring negative stats were our tackling & effort. Well below par and a big factor in the loss for sure.

I don’t believe that looking at the scoring disparity is lazy analysis, it’s clearly had a big factor on the result. Not entirely our own doing as the disparity also takes into account an insanely accurate GWS, as per the xG stats.

To me this game clearly came down to tackling, effort, desire & goal kicking disparity. Fortunately all fixable if we put the work in over the bye.

Goal kicking was why we weren’t ahead by more at half time. I think it was about 5% of the issue in the second half.
