Looking at those photos, he's still very much a young, underdeveloped kid isn't he?! :smilev1: While he doesn't need to be a solid monster if he is an outside player, he'll certainly benefit from more conditioning as time goes on. As long as he strong enough and fit enough to stay healthy on the field, gain some experience and give us some flashes of brilliance - I'll be more than satisfied! :thumbsupv1:

Looks like he’s put on some muscle to me. AFL players aren’t big anymore so I don’t think it really matters about his size anyway.

Just play him for a half in the VFL, no need to rush. See how he pulls up then progress his gametime from there.

AFL debut shouldn't be rushed, take the long term approach, let him find some form, fitness and game touch again and assess how his body is handling it.

agreed, no need to rush

in saying that, i demand he play afl this weekend and he plays 100% game time

I wouldn't like to be the other 17 AFL clubs if this guy never does another knee.

I have been a bit concerned about his running style and particularly striking the ground way in front of his body like here:

So I had a look at Bolton, who has barely ever had an injury and you can see him here in a similar position:

So who knows. Both players have a rare level of agility. If Hotton stays sound and gets a bit of confidence I have a feeling he will attract a lot of attention from the media etc, very very eye-catching player. Fingers crossed for both him and the club, good luck stopping him if he stays fit.
