Carlton should start a new trend.
Be the first club to bring in performance based contracts.
Meet your KPI's and you get paid. Don't meet them and you don't get paid. Simple.
Don't like the coach? Doesn't matter.
I Worked 22 years selling cars and had a lot of "bosses" I didn't get on with.
Still had to do the job if I wanted to succeed and earn.
At the moment they can go about their jobs half arsed and still get paid the same, with minimal, if not zero, repercussions.
That's a damn good life they've got.

It looks like a lot of fans outside of BF are calling Voss out too.

According to a report lots of bluebaggers calling into radio talkback after the game to show how disgusted they’ve been with our lack of effort and terrible game style.

I think it’s just a matter of time before club makes the call on Voss.

He’s had 3-4 years now and we’ve been stagnant if not going backwards.

Whilst I agree the actions of the current player group seems to indicate a distinct lack of motivation to have genuine success if we did something like what you are proposing that then aside from washed up journey men no player would ever come to Carlton and every rookie would leave as soon as they got the chance. We would definitely finish last each year, members would stop paying memberships and going to games, sponsors would stop paying sponsorships and in 5 years we would either be fully controlled by the AFL or out the competition.

I think we’ll get the ‘while it’s still mathematically possible’ rhetoric served up next week. The death blow could come after the Collingwood game..

Supply and Demand. We can offer guys contracts that are heavily performance based but unless every club does the same, nobody will want to sign with us. No top player is going to sign a deal like that when the alternative is guaranteed money.

It's actually going the other direction getting with more and more ridiculous contracts being offered.

On the outside that may be true but I’ve got a feeling the club and particular Wright are aware we’re going nowhere this season.

it’s just doesn’t look like we’re club fighting to make the 8. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I know. Post was mostly tongue in cheek.
Just really frustrated that players have so much influence these days. Maybe they've always had it?

I’m sure we can tarnish Longmire’s reputation as well as we did to Pagans and Malthouse’s

Not if we have a half-decent Head of Football

Eg. a half-decent Head of Football would've told Voss he cannot select Doc for a final after multiple ACLs and not having played a competitive game in 6 months. That night was one of about 4 nails is Voss's coffin

Had all summer to swallow pride and make changes. Did SFA and the Rd 1 disaster bookended 2024/2025

One messiah pushing to get in a messiah head coach. What could possibly go wrong?
You don't understand, that's where we've gone wrong in the past!

We just need to keep bringing in messiahs over and over and over until all we have are messiahs. Once we've collected them all, we're sure to do well!

Don't think you'd get the PA on board, and we have to meet minimum salary cap payments.

The answer is to find/ draft blokes with a ruthless will to win. Until you have a critical mass of those sorts in your club it won’t change.

Is that before or after the fortnightly Patrick Cripps, “We must do better. It’s on us.” statement?

The club doesnt want the downside of these types of players though.

You want a guaranteed good boy 250 gamer in Walsh? Or a gamebreaker with drama like Smith?

You want Mitch Robinson who'll run through a wall for a smother, get suspended for flying the flag or Ollie who'll run all day, be courageous but fair and largely predictable/consistent.

crippa one of the all time biggest midfielders... nobody fears him outside of the contest. Beat up on his teammates all you want, he'll play tough but thats all.

The club is scared of x factor
