Future FirstEven if NWM wanted to come to us, we don’t have the draft capital this year to push through a fair deal. He’s worthy of an early 1st rounder, & we simply don’t possess that type of capital unless we give up something significant.

The new points system for NGA and FS will mean that Port likely need to preserve first rounders to get access to those two if they are likely to be top 5 picks. Hard to predict now, but Port will continue to look silly and desperate for draft capital down the track if they continue to trade away future firsts.
How is that overs? He’s a 22 year old star. For me that’s way overs.
Yes but under the new model, you would need 4 picks between 20 and 30 to match a bid at pick 5. After 30 the points fall away rapidly. With the Tassie compromised draft, those 20-30 picks are all going to be in the first round still so will be hard to get hold of from other clubs.I'm happy to totally trade away future drafts if it means we get those quality players at a time when everyone else has very limited access to quality players.
If we can add them to our current crop if young guns we have a huge opportunity to really take advantage of Tassie coming in.

If we trade our F1 we need the saints F2 back. Will be very hard to accumulate points for a top 5 pick for Dougie and extremely hard if Dougie goes pick 1.We definitely have the trade capital. Don’t forget you can now trade picks 2 years in advance. Next years first and the following will get it done. Especially because we have Dougie and Zemes coming through, that is incredible list management if it happens.

It’s a lot to give up granted he’s good but has been a go to man in a weak side running off half back. How is that overs? He’s a 22 year old star.
I'd dead set seriously cash that out.F1 (2027) + Berry.
We gave up 2 first round picks + pick 43 for a 19 year old JHF.For me that’s way overs.
You'd think Farrell would be the guyWe gave up 2 first round picks + pick 43 for a 19 year old JHF.
NWM is 22 years old, 23 in February 2026, and has delivered more in 3.67 seasons than JHF delivered in his first season at Norf, so NWM will cost us effectively 2 x 1st round picks.
I don't want to give away our 2027 1st round pick given the NGA players we potentially have in 2027, and we don't have of 2025 1st round pick as we gave it away for Lukosius trade, so if we want to get NWM we will have to give away a player either as a trade or to get draft capital for 2025 + 2026 pick(s). If we didn't sign Farrell up for 5 years 3 months ago, he'd probably be on the table as trade capital for NWM.
That’s the problem with Lachie - plays a clutch of games, with gradual improvement being noted and then he pings the hammy and has a 3 to 4 weeks holiday and then he’s back to where he started!very harsh on jones
Pre-injury was playing amazing
Are you kidding? Kako has shown plenty. Berry isn't fit to tie Kako's shoes. Also, those saying to sell Berry are making my brain hurt, Look at Kako at Essendon, the 1st rated small forward in last years draft, has played the whole season and has done bugger all.
Nice JokeAre you kidding? Kako has shown plenty. Berry isn't fit to tie Kako's shoes.
Has to be surely, he's been awful...Nice Joke
It would just make the trade deal last year even more pointless. Also, those saying to sell Berry are making my brain hurt, Look at Kako at Essendon, the 1st rated small forward in last years draft, has played the whole season and has done bugger all.
I think we've been lucky with kids being ready and performing straight away in the past and the reality is it's not always like that.It would just make the trade deal last year even more pointless.
“We drafted Berry because we rate him highly, but we’re gonna put him on the trade table after one season”.
People here are writing him off after seven games. Look he needs to improve his output and get his game going but seriously, people ought to take a step back and chill.
Yea not true. Kako has barely shown anything at all, but they are persisting. Are you kidding? Kako has shown plenty. Berry isn't fit to tie Kako's shoes.
