This is dumb. We all have our moments where we make statements that seem to be slightly irrational because we are pissed with the game or in this case think a club is more advanced than us. No need to be getting upset with a poster because you don’t agree. Call it out,yes but going to the stage where you go back and repost part of what they said is over the top and just displays a singleminded determination to prove you are correct. Lighten up.

That's probably not going to come from the coach though. Dimma, Clarko, Goodwin, Simmo, all failed to see the writing on the wall and held onto the dream for too long. The day a premiership coach concedes that it's time for a rebuild is the day they should start looking for a new job.

North are further advanced and as expected would kick us right now. Of the clubs 3 or 4 ladder slots above us, it may be a reach to think North will end above more than one. I suspect we’ll most likely end with a pick 4 or 5 if Allen brings an extra Eagles first rounder. Quoting parts of people’s prior posts as a way of substantiating your argument is lame. I liked your post it was honest. I think we are 2 years from being as competitive as North are now. 3 more years from any chance of the 8.

I’d have them favourite but they’d be just as likely to fall over and if it’s next week without Xerri and LDU we’d have to give ourselves any chance. We’d be without Lynch which imo would hurt us.

But Lalor would be back and it’s scary how badly our forward line has missed him. He’s probably our most dangerous forward, he’s 1st for assists, 3rd for score involvements and 3rd for goals per game. We’ve passed 60 points once in 4 games he’s missed compared to 3 in 10 before.

Add in Hotton and without Lynch could be the most dangerous forward line all year with Green and Mansell out and Hotton, Lalor, Alger and Seth in.

You’d have to give us a reasonable chance of beating them

Whether we get pick-4, pick-6 or pick-8, the trade was a MASSIVE WIN for us. I'm not saying it was a massive loss for North - if M Whitlock is a star and they make a good selection with our second pick then it can be a win for them also. But if it turns it to a win for them, nothing changes the fact it was a huge win for us, as we clearly had no intention of drafting M Whitlock anyway, and we got Sims and Alger regardless.

There's no doubt if North thought they'd be 16th after Round 15 they'd not have done the trade - it would've been done on the expectation they'd spike up the ladder to 14th at worst. So right now it was a mistake, but we will only know for sure in a few years as it's all based on how good or bad M Whitlock ends up being. But even if he's a superstar, the trade remains a massive win for us and our rebuild.
