The scores we've been conceding at the Gabba have been a concern lately. Port 92 points, GWS 107 points, Melbourne 99 points. Those are 3 out of our last 4 opposition at home.

We go through significant phases during games where we leak several goals and we struggle to score ourselves. Our effort, energy and intensity can be very inconsistent. It felt as though last night we played enough patches of brilliance and that 10-15 minute period at the end of the first quarter where we scored 7 goals in quick succession got us over the line.
The irony of playing at the Gabba is that we're a higher scoring team when we play there, but its only out of necessity, because teams are able to run right through us at the Gabba, so we have to always score a lot, because the opposition is usually scoring just as much. I'm glad bailey mentioned that Fagan addressed the players about the Gabba being our weakness, because it really is. If we play a home final at the Gabba, i would seriously go into the game worried, and I wasn't joking when i said i'm praying for an away final, because we're a much much better team on the road.

How many 4 quarter performances this year?Hawthorn,Gold Coast ,Geelong? Any others.Hopefully proximity to finals will add some application.
We didn't even play 4 quarter performances in the finals last year except the GF. Most teams won't the majority of weeks.

It obviously didn’t matter but the GF wasn’t a 4 quarter performance - 4th quarter was a chad Warner/luke Parker turn up when it doesn’t matter special.

Was the rare 35 mins of junk time at the end.

Sorry but I do disagree with you on that. I believe its very relevant

Still friends tho:)
It's certainly relevant in the aspect of us performing well or not, but in terms of ladder position it won't have impact unless another draw happens.

Regarding our draw and if another happens in the H & A season.
Once again, the AFL have their heads in the sand and refuse to play extra time.
FFS they have extra time in the finals as a draw stuffs up everything.
But it is okay for the AFL to possibly stop a team making it to top 2, 4 or 8.
A rule enforced for all of the season, but it's okay to change that rule come finals time.

We are not soccer with very reduced scoring, so a draw is acceptable in that code.

Connor Rozee keeps his perfect record of never winning against the Lions at the Gabba.
Perhaps the most important stat from last evenings match

I'd rather pot Fletcher, Hipwood, Lester, Morris, Ah Chee, Andrews, Answerth, Ashcroft, Ashcroft, Day, Bailey, Rayner, Wilmot and Zorko in the tackling department.

All of those had 1 or 0 tackles. Kai had 4.

The overall tackling from the group has been incredibly poor, I'm glad Fages mentioned it in his presser.

Morris 0 pressure acts

I saw a stat during the week, IIRC on First Crack where when the top current top 9 on the ladder play against each other our percentage is one of the best.

When we play against the bottom 9 it is one of the worst, most of the other top 9 sides feast on the bottom 9.

I did a google search and couldn't find it but I came up with this image below, top 9 v bottom 9 win/loss and remaining games against top/bottom 9. Dogs form v other top 9 sides is horrendous.

Agree, although time is getting away with us re Kiddy getting back to top form for finals.

BTW is we have no further injuries who goes out for Kiddy.

I think we'd have to look at shifting Zorko elsewhere. I'd be going Levi sub and keeping the wings to Fletcher/Berry/Bailey.

Zorkos kicking last night left a lot to be desired. Really need Kiddy fit and back in the team by finals.

I’ve given up on Kiddy for this season. I think next season we’ll keep Zorks as insurance but we’ll be a better team when Kiddy takes his spot

Hopefully Wilmot continues to improve his kicking as well

Yeah I don't have high hopes for Kiddy or Doedee this year which is a shame, but think there is a genuine chance Kiddy will be good to go at some point this year, just hope it's with enough time to settle before finals.

Zorko's age has really shown this year. He usually makes a clanger or two every game, where that used to be something that he never used to do. If im being honest, I think he should be our permanent sub next season. I also think Brisbane should look at how Collingwood are handling pendleberry and doing that with Zorko. I believe players can play a lot longer these days, but at Zorko's age, you shouldn't play every game for every minute, because it becomes too detrimental

It's just my impression that Zorks and Neale are doing what they have to at present and going through the motions when we have control of the game.

For both of them ,and Zorko in particular , there's not much left to do except be great finals players and enhance their CV.

As for the comments wherever they were that Zorko would be a crap coach the AFL is littered with angry little emotional players who were great coaches . Hardwick ,Clarkson ,Pagan , Ross , Tommy , Malthouse ,even Scotty ,just off the top of my head and Zorko's a far better player than any of them. Dare I say Fagan who apparently was a bit of a pest in his day.

Once your career ends and you're able to focus on the coaching side of things fully you can often develop a totally different persona and perspective than what you had when you were still playing.

I really don’t get the Zorko hate. He’s AA squad level again this year. People must be bored of him or something.

It is reasonable to point out the amount of kicks to disadvantage he's had this year compared to last. It doesn't mean he isn't best 22 etc, but it is a concern. There is a difference between reasonable criticism and unreasonable hate. This is not the latter.
