Not sure what to think after that game. Scored 5 tries to 4. Had heap of players out but so did the tigers. Played one of our worst halves of the year - among 6-7 candidates - and still came close.

F**k we can make a bad decision on a football field.
If you ever wanted to know what a side who walked out thinking the win was already banked, then watch the first 35 mins again.
Roosters looked as disinterested as I’ve seen a side. They were the better side once they realized they’d actually need to put in an effort to win but they gave us too great a start

That’s a pretty good summary. Even once we got on top though it was very very dumb footy repeatedly - getting back to back sets and finishing with a second rower in possession at first receiver 10m out in front of goal getting tackled on the last tackle: that’s criminal. We’ve got a bloke on the wing who’s not far behind Johnston for tries scored and probably half of them are from kicks, he’s scored a screamer already from a kick, and we don’t give him another chance. Defies logic. The tigers weren’t without fault either obviously; the lack of set up for a field goal etc.

Thought some of the refereeing was terrible both ways, each side got a joke of a high tackle call their way

We definitely got the rub that first half hour, and I still can’t believe the Roosters gave us so many opportunities through well… looking like the Tigers for a lot of the game.
On a different note I wonder if 3 different brothers have crossed the line in the same game before.
I have hope that Latu Fainu can become a player for us.
His interview after the game sounded like he was fully invested which is refreshing

Think it’s the first time it’s happened - thought the Mortimers or Hughes brothers might have managed it at the Dogs or even possibly the Walkers at Brisbane but no. The Turbos haven’t yet either.

I think it might have happened in the same game at some point with brothers on different teams but can’t find a definitive example - the Walters brothers would be a likely candidate

So apparently in 1979 Peter, Steve and Chris Mortimer each crossed against Parramatta - in a preliminary final of all games. I was mistaken earlier
As a Roosters supporter what’s your take on why your side got rid of Terrell May? Was it a behavioral thing ?
He’s been a bright light in another grim year for us and it’s curious he was dispensed with

It was definitely odd.
He’s a different sort of guy and marches to the beat of his own drum - not necessarily in a bad way, I don’t think he’s done anything wrong in his career aside from what looked to be a very dodgy effort a few feet off camera during that Twitch stream with Smith and a few others last year or the year before - I’m still not sure what to make of that.

I think the Roosters have made/are making a reasonably conscious effort to reshape their culture a bit in recent times. I think that was part of the reason we were as quick to cut Smith as we were - he really didn’t play as poorly as people have been led to believe. Jennings’ presence might contradict this a bit given that he did a stretch in jail but he wasn’t a troublemaker once he left. It seems we have a no dickheads policy of sorts - Radley has been well behaved for quite a while now and I can’t think off the top of my head of anyone else who’s done anything of note?? Maybe we are just trying to go down that path of looking at what has made Penrith successful??

Yes they had Luai who some have seen as a dickhead but if your biggest crime is a distasteful best man speech then you’re doing ok.

At any rate Robbo actually - for a guy often accused of not crediting the opposition or speaking well of opposition players etc - was quite effusive of both the Tigers and May yesterday. Didn’t say it like ‘May will always be ‘more’ a rooster than anything else’ but said basically that May will always be a part of the roosters club having been there previously and will always have mates there and would have been proud of his performance yesterday.
