It took JLo so long to trial Young into the midfield. I wish he would now trial Chappie and Clark at least one more level up the ground. Clark would make an excellent winger and possibly could even be used as a mid. He has the speed. Maybe it wouldnt work, I dont care, try it. We are one A grade midfielder short of a flag.

Huh? People were screaming out for Young to be pushed into the midfield. It was an obvious move and not one that I give JL much credit for. If people were surprised, it was merely that JL had taken so long that it seemed he would never actually do it.

Young was moved into the midfield in late 2023, a season where Chapman had only 20 or so games under his belt to start the year, and was then injured in Rd 3 and out for the season. People were hardly calling for Chapman to be the one trialled over Young when Chapman wasn't even going to be able to get on the field.

Have not watched him recently. Sounds like he has fallen of a cliff. Even Duffield said so.

I was looking for a Membrey level player to pinch as a stop gap for 2 or 3 years.

Hi all haven't gone back through the pages but just wanted to see if what I'm hearing(one of my good friends partner is good friends with bobys partner) has any relevance, apparently Bobbys partner has more or less told him that she will be returning to WA to be closer to her support network and family, and it is his choice what he wants to do , if he decides to stay in Melbourne which by all accounts is what he wants them she considers their marriage over .

My memory of that time is very different from yours, but I could easily be wrong. I have lived in Melbourne for over 10 years, so I'm somewhat out of the loop regarding lots at Freo

Same with Jackson though! You never know. Bobby would go ok in our forward line, only 25 and is a massive big game player. Be our best small tackler in the forward line too

Shai played with Narkle and Sam PP. Bobby Hill is a couple of years younger. Shai left after year 11 which was when Narkle was in year 12.

From the team on the weekend, these players are average or worse users - Pearce, Cox, Chapman, Noddy, Johnno, Voss, Amiss (goal kicking), Serong (hit and miss), Brayshaw (lacks hurt factor and horrible in front of goals), Raz, Darcy, Banners.
Add to that the players that didn't play but have this year - Fyfe, Sharp, Omac, Switta
We need elite users and at least 2 or 3 of them to go with Clark and Young. We play slow, stagnant footy because we dont have to skills to hit targets through the corridor. Blame JL all you like, but if he released the shackles, we would concede 15 goals to turnover every week.

Glad to make you laugh. I'm not giving fans credit for Young going midfield. I'm stating it was an obvious/natural thing to do. His junior coaches moved him to midfield late in his last U/18 season and he performed well, and he was drafted with the expectation that was where he would end up. Longmuir doing the expected is hardly anything to hang his hat on. I give JL much more credit for what he's been able to do with Wagner.

That would seem a long time for him to hold a grudge and halve his chances of moving home . Especially when he's proven us wrong

Ian Bobby Hill is contracted until 2030. Not paying that much overs for him.

Contracts can end up working the other way if continuing to play for their current club isn’t viable. I'm not sure this quite falls into that category but it has potential to.

If that's true about Hill's partner when he has two kids I'd say it's the sort of trade that happens for a fair price once Collingwood drop out if premiership contention. It probably doesn't happen this year but if Collingwood miss the eight next season and there is several older players decline and/or retire then it might be time to reset.
