Last time we beat each team

Adelaide - 2020
Brisbane - 2018
Carlton - 2025
Collingwood - 2019
Essendon - 2016
Fremantle - 2023
Geelong - 2015
Gold Coast - 2024
GWS - 2020
Hawthorn - 2021
Melbourne -2025
Richmond - 2025
St Kilda - 2020
Sydney - 2018
Western Bulldogs - 2019
West Coast - 2025

Still 6 teams we haven't beaten this decade. Saints not one of them
That Essendon stat is embarrassing
Considering they have been terrible that entire time themselves.

It's almost as if we are their grand final. Ironic considering they have to harp on how much they don't care.

As for the thread topic I'm not really confident of anything. We "should" beat Richmond but then again we "should" have beaten West Coast in late 2023 and 2024 as well. The reality is we are still the third or fourth shitest team by a comfortable margin and we could just as easily lose that game by 5 goals as winning it by a kick. The last 2 games vs the tigers have actually been incredibly unconvincing, last year they kicked 10.17 and earlier this year outplayed us in the last 3 quarters.

Richmond came back in the second quarter and got in front. So how did they lose if they outplayed us in the second half?

The minimum is 6 wins. Can see us beating Richmond and one of the Saints or Demons, would be great if we beat both

I predicted 5 wins at the start of the year so I'm not surprised by any of this.

I think we get 7-8 next year and that should be the expectation, we are still a long long way off it
7-8 in the fourth year of a re-re-rebuild would be a failure of epic proportions.

The win total of 8 for this year is the expectation. If you’re being overly generous, it’s seven and the draw with Brisbane.

The club continues to fail across the board when opportunity presents itself (PA, *, Freo) and still gets curbstomped by anyone in the eight (Brisbane aside)

Collingwood - 40+
Hawthorn- 80+
GC - 40 +
Adelaide - 36

Still haven’t played Geelong, GWS.

Is it the 4th year?

I don't think this is a rebuild like any other. I think realistically we are in year 2 of the current rebuild. We have had two prior that simply didn't work.

We are still at least 2 years away from even thinking about 10+ wins

Sheezel and Wardlaw are the line.

That draft class need to be senior players and even then who knows where the actual ceiling is. We want it high. It could be just solid.

It’s a deep f***ing hole we’re in.

We can say this started in 2017, but its not correct. That rebuild failed. The 2021 one failed as well.

Now who you want to blame for those is up for discussion but there are still people at the club in roles that were in the same roles when these failed and that is simply not good enough

Was referring to next year being year four.

The low bar, and by extension the excuses for the low expectations need to stop.

The club will remain anchored to the bottom four if they’re simply wanting to ‘compete for longer’.

Such a limiting ethos.

I'd say its more realistic, I saw people on here predicting 8-10 wins this year, its simply was never going to happen, we aren't good enough compared to other clubs.

As I stated above, the people who have been in roles at the club pre 2023 must be held accountable, but they won't be.

The top of the tree.

Ben Buckley.

Fraudulent imposter and it happened on his watch while he half arsed it and phoned it in, literally.

Using that logic, I think next year is our first year in a rebuild.

Richmond came back in the second quarter and got in front. So how did they lose if they outplayed us in the second half?

The remaining 3 quarters was 9.8.62 to 6.6.42 Richmond's way and they had more scoring shots too.

The first quarter was the difference. We were a bit lucky tbh, it was a very hollow feeling victory. For once I want a decisive win which we haven't seen since the Melbourne game.

After they took the lead just before the 30 minute mark of the second quarter we kicked 6.5 to their 5.6.

They took the lead two more times, including early in the fourth quarter and still lost.

Considering how insipid we were late in games last year and how intense the pressure in that game was it was a massive win for the side.

Realistically we are what, 20 points in total the other direction from a 1 win season, having scraped in against Carlton, WCE and Richmond.

I do know that if my auntie had balls etc etc but realistically, we have scrambled over the line on 3 occasions, twice against oppo we should have handled easily.

I expect us to beat Richmond and that's it, and that is a major fail. I just don't see the improvement despite the modicum of improvement in our % vs 2024.

Aside from player retention which (touch wood) to date is incredibly +ve (maybe by over-paying players...), we're a laughing stock of a club.
Narrow losses/a draw to essendon, freo and brisbane though.

How are we in year 2 of the rebuild given this is Clarko's third season, he has coached 54 games for us, and this upcoming preseason will the the 4th with him & Viney at the helm? Even accounting for his time off that isn't accurate and is just shifting the goalposts further and further away.

Because in year one of the rebuild he didn't coach the whole season and was sick and stressed out.

Even in year two he wasn't entirely focused on the job cos the racism stuff was still going on.

I had us going 3 to 7 wins. But given nowhere between those wins is contending its moot anyway. The way we play and increase in potential was more what i are interested in.

Sadly so far iam not seeing a lot of signs of any real improvement in the short term. The Daniels deal alone is a massive own goal and progress of duursma, sheezel and wardlaw this year have been underwhelming.

Stevens, pink and hardiman on the other hand have been a pleasant surprise.

We have reset, rebuilt from the midfield out and rebuilt again by adding experience in 10 years
