Jasper is injuredThe Tiger Cubs return home to the MCG to take on Essendon in what should be an interesting game to watch. Both teams are heavily invested in their respective rebuilds and will be featuring quite a number of young players looking to establish themselves in the league.
Richmond will unfortunately be missing number 1 pick Sam Lalor and Hugo Ralphsmith due to injury, while Noah Balta will also miss due to the court imposed curfew. Which should see the likes of Taj Hotton Jayden Short and Jacob Koschitzke in the mix for senior selection.
The Tigers will be heading into this game looking to rebound from a month of poor performances while Essendon themselves will be looking to respond to a last quarter fadeout against the Suns.
Richmond will need to pay close attention to the likes of Merrett Caldwell and Martin, with Merrett and Martin dominating against us in the Dreamtime game earlier this year.
Possible Line Up
Out: Lalor Ralphsmith Balta
In: Hotton Short Koschitzke
B: Broad Miller Blight
HB: Banks Vlastuin Short
C: Trainor Prestia McIntosh
HF: Mansell Rioli Campbell
F: Hotton Faull Koschitzke
R: Nankervis Hopper Taranto
INT: Brown Sims Ross Sonsie Alger
Agree, Essendon midfield is actually very good. If we play the same midfield mix we will get thrashed.B: Broad Miller Blight
HB: Short Vlastuin Trainor
C: Brown Prestia Banks
HF: Ross Koschitzke Rioli
F: Mansell Faull Campbell
R: Nankervis Hopper Taranto
INT: Green Sims Trezise Harry Scott...
SUB: Hotton
Give Ross another game primarily in the midfield and play Rioli up the ground similar to last week.
If our midfield have a blinder we're a slight chance otherwise no.
I would hope that maybe we play Taranto forward. He is a good forward who would provide an alternate target and provide good support for Faull & Simms. Sadly, cannot see it happening.Bringing in Koschitzke is absolutely dumb… offers nothing today and nothing going forward in our rebuild. Worse than giving KMac prime minutes. Would rather we just line up with Faull & Simms even if they cop a pasting
A who's who of who the fook is that guy
Parish is whichever is the super expensive variety
Morning all, I'm in Melbourne for the week (for the second time, first time was way back in 2012 for a few days either side of a Falls Creek honeymoon) and I'm going to the Richmond vs Essendon game. Will be my first game at the G (doing the MCG tour this week too). Pretty pumped. Any tips or suggestions? Will be going by myself, wife and kids are having a movie and snack night in the hotel. We're staying on Collins St. It it an OK walk to the ground on match day or should I walk to the big arse train station that's just down the road? I also splurged a bit on a corporate thing (money straight into the Richmond coffers...) I'm unsure if it's worth it but ... I'm also keen for that
Will there be a big crowd? I know neither team are flying but they are big clubs, but I'm unsure how they've been filling up the G this year. Hoping for that Big Vic club atmosphere!![]()
Don't leave out the Cricketers Arms.If time is not an issue and you have a couple hours spare before the game.
Head into Swan street Richmond (8-10 minute walk to the G) before the game and head into a couple of the pubs (Richmond club hotel, Swan, Precinct) , will be a decent atmosphere. Maybe even stop into the Royal Hotel.
A lot better then the CBD pre game anyway.
Why would you take Brown out of HB and replace with Short who has not reach anywhere near Banks's output over the last 2 seasons.B: Broad Miller Blight
HB: Short Vlastuin Trainor
C: Brown Prestia Banks
HF: Ross Koschitzke Rioli
F: Mansell Faull Campbell
R: Nankervis Hopper Taranto
INT: Green Sims Trezise Harry Scott...
SUB: Hotton

those players all shitrucks
Wouldn't mind seeing Young play forward rather than Blight. Blight was good last week and maybe deserves to settle.Vlastuin Miller Broad
Banks Young Brown
Trezise Ross Trainor
Hotton Faull Campbell
Green Blight Mansell
Nankervis Taranto Rioli
Short Hopper Sims Prestia
Sub: McIntosh
In: Young, Trezise, Hotton, Short, Green
Out: Balta, Ralphsmith, Lalor, Alger, Sonsie (delisted)
Need to search Blight for everything he has before he hits OOC, ditto Green. Kozi is a known commodity, and I’d rather let him play FB in the VFL until absolutely required.
Rioli, Mansell and / or Campbell must get some genuine midfield time. We need some pace and tackling against the Bombers’ - Merrett, Durham will run by Hop and Taranto.
Don’t like Trainor on the wing but more value playing than not
