How did ____ go on the weekend?

Why not consult the Alesana Player Video Database.

The only way chessser plays on next year is because we need someone to delist next year.

What a joke. Some calling that he should get a few games in the seniors, to see if he's worth preserving with for next year.

His papers are stamped. He makes the c grade amateurs look like super stars.

I'd say the only ones who papers are 100% stamped is Petch

Think McQualter likes Chesser

I don't know about likes. My impression from his media responses is that McQualter is open-minded about Chesser's potential. Like I was before I watched that game.

This is not a plea to keep Chesser on the list - but the only player to have a good game in those conditions on that spudly team was AFL veteran and 5 time Brownlow runner up Tim Kelly, and even then I wouldn't have called his game elite.

It was a dog of a game played in a cow paddock, and the Beagles did not adjust to the conditions. Just terrible everywhere.

yeah sort of what I meant, can see something

It’s more the fact that he was invisible. He had like 6 touches to his name going into the last 10 minutes of the match. There were plenty of guys that were quite average but still involved in the game.

I was indifferent to Chesser at the start of the year and didn’t really care if he stayed or cut but I really think he needs to be moved on now.

Just end it with chesser now, his problem isn’t strength and fitness that another preseason is going to solve.

He’s not a see ball get ball player and has no idea where to position himself around the contest to be useful.

Delist or invest another year trying to develop him into a consistent wafl player by year 5. Decision is pretty easy for me.

Exactly 👏🏽

What do people seriously think is going to realistically happen with Chesser of we keep him around?

Oh he's done a full pre season and got new coach so suddenly he's going to get more than 10 touches in the WAFL? He going to turn into Chris Judd suddenly?

All this potential he's kept hidden in his back pocket is now going to be released because McQualter is here? Excellent.

All the injuries he's prone to getting that wipe out large chunks of his footy season after season are just going to disappear too I take it? Is he going to learn to actually find the ball?

It's a waste of time. Just cut our losses with the draft bust and move on with a fresh player on the list.

You could say that about the majority of the AFL listed players though. I'm not saying keep him or turf him, but I would think that most coaches/selectors would look at the conditions last night and take the stats with a grain of salt.

This is very much a copout bruv.

Grego played fine. Bo Allan lifted and played fine. These are 18yr olds. When Gross plays he's also one of the Beagles best and he's a former pick 46.

Sure Kelly was BOG but no other player on the field, save a couple topups were worse than Chesser, and this includes Barnett and Rawlinson who each kicked a goal.

For someone playing for a contract, Chesser needs to be playing every game well. He doesn’t need to be getting 25 touches a week, bare minimum is making an impact or having some meaningful full pieces of play within in the game. Last night is as a bad of a game as he could produce.

While not many Eagles listed players had a a strong outing, most actually had some really positive moments throughout the night (rawlinson, chesser, HJ and Barnett).

Chesser is a 4th year ex first rounder who has lived off being a talented under ager and realistically only hanging because of that. He really hasn’t put any promosing afl performances and has struggled to put any dominant wafl performances.

Jarrod Brander was cut in his 4th year and he’s showed way more than Chesser at both levels of footy.

Nobody is calling to delist Chesser on the basis of one WAFL game in poor condition.

Its 5 years of not much at all.

Definitely. However last week we could see something. This week he should be fired out of a cannon.

Chesser is the anti "follow me boys, who's coming with me"

When Grego and Gross are saying and doing this as first year players, just watch the WAFL and you'll see when they do it...

Chesser is wearing pink boots and supposed to be playing for his AFL career and still not doing anything like it, you know he just doesn't have the killer instinct or heart to win.

You'd think he'd show a bit more urgency and desperation, therein lies his problem.

Bring on TK for the SCG perhaps

Chesser is toast.

His start to the club was unfortunate, doing an ankle and subsequently missing the whole first year. This undoubtedly had an impact on his confidence. While he has had further injuries, its his performances at both AFL and WAFL level, in the past three seasons which will left us with little to be excited about and that should lead to his delisting at season's end.

Injuries, especially to young, talented players, are cruel and unfair. But we're a football club not a charity and our generosity can't go beyond this year for Chess.

It's no surprise that he showed something against a putrid side in Subi.

Other than that, he's been pretty much invisible.

Indeed - a lesser opponent, perfect conditions and capable support and he looked decent. Not in particular for him, but our WAFL set-up and how bad we/it is is not helping the development of our players at all.

Bearing in mind he’s only recently come back from a long layoff following injury I would say give him 1 more year as with a good preseason under his belt he may just prove us all wrong. I can remember thinking Darryn Glass was never going to make it and we know what happened next there.

No doubt every player ever that has been delisted without making their mark has a game or 2 where they've shown something. Rawlinson has shown just as much

Horrible comparing Glass and Chesser. Glass was a key position player and it well known they take a while to get going. Any way he still played 50 games by his fourth year. Chesser despite the injuries has looked lost at even wafl level bar a handful of games.

This time last year we cut luke edwards and Zane trew and dare I say both showed more at both levels and we did the right decision cutting them. Chesser only in the conversation of staying cause he’s a former first rounder.

Chesser played like shit, the conditions didn’t suit him at all but certainly no excuse to play that bad.

Has to perform better or he will and should be delisted.

Definitely people that love to pray on some players downfall though and almost jump at the opportunity to comment on bad games/moments, but when the same player has good games/moments any comments come with a clause.

This misses nuance though, Chesser isn’t in the conversation of staying because of his draft position, it’s the untrainable attributes he possesses that guys like Trew and Edwards didnt (which got him drafted in the first round).

In theory he has all the makings of a good footballer, doesn’t seem to have the brain/continuity to grasp it though unfortunately.

A lot of the time it just feels like he needs to be hungrier, opponents can’t keep up and he’s one of the better kicks in the team so he should be demanding the handball running passed teammates but never does.

Surely the coaches need to instruct him to do so.

Chesser. The sunk fallacy cost. Just one more year and he'll turn.

Before you know it we have another McIness on our hands.
