Counterterrorism detectives charged the 34-year-old from Toongabbie, NSW, after arresting him in Melbourne CBD

Just noticed that he's reportedly from NSW, in a suburb between Blacktown and Parramatta.

He's reported to be appearing in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today (Sunday).

Police reveal identity of man charged over East Melbourne Synagogue fire

A 34-year-old Sydney man has appeared in court over an alleged arson attack at a synagogue in East Melbourne on Friday night.

'Counterterrorism detectives charged the 34-year-old from Toongabbie, NSW, after arresting him in Melbourne CBD about 8.15pm on Saturday evening. He was interviewed by detectives and charged with reckless conduct endangering life, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, criminal damage by fire, and possession of a controlled weapon.

A police statement said that detectives would “continue to examine the intent and ideology of the person charged to determine if the incident is in fact terrorism”.'

If an act causes terror to a person or group, imo it's terrorism. I don't know why there's a debate.

These three were convicted of setting fire to a Ukraine linked warehouse in London which stored aid and Starlink satellite devices.

They were hired by Russia's Wagner Group but Iran gets a mention here.

It seems to be too easy to find young people within who are willing for these kinds of jobs.

I personally think they're too weaselly to try something like this on but if they did, they're going to get caught. Also, they'd be very much disinclined to doing big jail time.

Our intelligence/security agencies will be all over this and they won't stop until they've found whoever's responsible.
