Parking the NAS hysteria for a moment-
TDK, Aleer, a Top 10 Draft Pick and Fincher looks like a damn good offseason!
Would certainly be consistent with our list management the last few off seasons.

Most important asset there is somehow nailing another top 10 dp would go a long flipping way to really tipping the list. You have to nail the draft multiple years in a row (esp in our position) to really set the new paradigm
If you want a squad developing together and eventually succeeding up the ladder together.

Aleer been hyped up a bit lately, makes him more enticing, TDK the opposite but think he’ll be a gun regardless.

A lot of unnecessary bedwetting going on.

To be fair you claim even St Kilda was blindsided by Battle. Unless you are in Nas's inner circle you would have no idea. I don't believe Tony or you are so until he signs I'll be nervous.

I’m not really nervous or wetting the bed. If he leaves he leaves, I think it’ll be brutal on the club but we’re shit anyway so that extremely low bar isn’t exactly getting battered any more than normal.

It’s a lot more fun talking about what we might get for him than talking about what Geelong will do to us this weekend or trying hype myself up for honorable losses.

King bedwetter.

We will enjoy their 2 future firsts and if we don’t play ball they will rig the drafts and restraint of trade and blah blah blah

A 2027 first is the equivalent of a 2025 second in my eyes, as that player won't be playing until 2028, and even if the pick was a hit, they realistic wouldn't be contributing until 2030. That's next generation team stuff.

Similarly, a 2026 first is worth slightly less that a 2025 first, as you don't know where it will fall (risk decreases the value) and once more you have to wait longer for that player to be on your list and effective. Together, I'd say a 2026 first and a 2027 first are worth around a single, mid range first this year, let's say pick 10.

If NAS is worth 2 top 10 picks, which seems about right, then Port would still need to find an additional pick, or add a player of similar value. Berry plus a '26 first and a '27 first seems about right if we value him as a player. If we don't, buggered if I know, as I don't by in to the Bergmen being available stuff.

Correct this could be more about money than people realise.

NAS could lock in 4m with us then go back to Port and ask for even more when he returns home in year 3. Or gets the back end of that Port deal improved significantly where he's really losing out.

So far he has years 1 and 2 sorted. But years 3 on wards aren't great for that long term deal.
Think I read here something on here like 1.2mill here for the first 2 years and then a significant increase should he decide to stay longer, if that’s to be believed.

But if he’s trying to get us to 2 mill a year to match Port or Crows and THEN he jumps ship after the two, then he can just go now. But boy, then they’re going to have to arrange something to compensate us big time.

I would really, really hope that he would not be trying to screw us like this. Not sure clubs would be wanting to be dealing with a player manage like this.

Let’s hope this is all just rubbish.

2027 picks are also likely going to be impacted by the Tassie concessions. They are getting 7 picks in the first 13.

Then add in any FA compo picks, academy players, fs....... 2027 future picks are worthless.

No, they want OUR first round pick for that trade lmao. Bergman for NWM and our 1st round pick.

They are living in a fantasy world where Port Power existed more than 30 years ago.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Boy, the delusion is great over there.

Not to be a downer but reports on Fincher are fairly mediocre at the moment.
Aleer and TDK is a good start and hopefully we can pull in a 2nd top 20 pick but we have SFA to trade with at the moment, TBD with Marshall.

We’ve waited too long as it is. Bugger waiting for another year or two, to get picks based on the trajectory of Port with NAS in the team, to only start developing them then and which could quite easily be late firsts.
Oh, and Tassie.

Why should be held over a barrel just because a kid we picked and developed, and is becoming a star decides he wants to go home?

Stuff that.

Ok. You’re a masochist, right? 🤣

Everyone’s got their views on this.

Real ITKs. Phony ITKs. Optimists. Pesimists. Media. Tony74.

My thoughts are Nas stays. And that’s just based on a combination of many things (in no particular order):

  1. The media stories suggesting he likely stays.
  2. The Adelaide airport “interview”.
  3. The friendship group at RSEA Park.
  4. The magnificent job St Kilda has done in regards to the indigenous players and respecting their culture.
  5. Nas’s often mentioned love of the coach.
  6. Tony74’s comments.
  7. The lack of assets for Port to get a trade done.
  8. The high profile Nas is taking in regards to the Saints social media.

All things considered I reckon he’s staying.

The thing that gives me some confidence that he’ll stay is that there doesn’t seem to be any noise/rumours from Adelaide/Port or any supposed ITK over there to suggest he’s leaving. If he was even a 50-50 of going they’d be all over it.

I think everyone is clueless.

I just hope Sos doesn't f*ck things up.
Nas is 100% in the driver's seat regarding his future. I don't see this this as a scenario that Sos can really balls up, and in the end he's there to serve the interests of the club not the player.
If Nas goes it's coz he wants to, no other reason.

Jevan Pou is probably the best wow factor at the moment. Greeves and Cumming for proper mids though very different types.

Probably Doveston if you want a bit of sizzle.

Can't say I'm excited by the prospect of swapping similar rucks (but paying double for the new one), getting an overpriced lockdown defender that we don't need and losing the best player we've drafted in 25 years. We'd have the top 10 draft pick and academy player without getting In our own way
