Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Definitely. I might even go on to say I'm led to believe it's more than likely to go through.

I'm hoping common sense prevails and I'm wrong and everyone on the board blasts me for not knowing anything 😁
I don't believe it for a second. It's all posturing and beat up I am sure.

If true though, may as well stick a fork in the club as it is cooked. Corporate Carlton the business might be good, but the heart, heritage and soul of Carlton the footy club would be dead.

Surely the doc retirement isn't the big news
As he said it's good news to
I wouldn't class that as good news I'd say it's a resigning of someone

I hope nothing else is announced today. Let Doc have his day and tomorrow he retires officially. Anything else can wait for Friday.

TDK to St Kilda is so meh lol. He’s clearly not worth that price, he clearly has stopped trying and St Kilda will be paying a ruckman $1.7 million a year to finish outside the top 8 most years. Best case scenario since he’s not re-signing.

We should preserve and allow TDK to reach 100 games as a Blue.

Generally I would be in favour of demoting a player IF they advise they're moving but given TDK is like five games from his 100th I'm supportive of him still playing. Long odds but you never know in 20 odd years time he has a superstar 17yo kid playing the game...It's worth the insurance.

I absolutely detest how seemingly every commentator or journo throws out the tiresome 'ohhh we're just not mature enough as an industry' line. It's so cringe. Principally, I would hate seeing us play someone who has told the club they're leaving in the last month of a lost season (thus keeping a young player out of the team who could be benefitting from the experience). Calling that 'immature' is laughable.

I think, if indeed TDK has made up his mind to leave, he's been as respectful as he possibly could. No issue with him and suspect the decision has weighed heavily on him given he doesn't really 'want' to leave.

Jack going to the pies is nothing more than clickbait and a sick joke to me. Yes I could very well be in denial, I will have to learn to live with that if that's the case.
Does anyone honestly believe that he would go there for premiership success? As much as I love the blues and it is firmly ingrained in me (like it would be for Jack) ...if I were to win one playing for them, it would feel pretty soulless to me. Moneys another thing though...
As for TDK....I don't believe for one second it is an easy decision for him. I feel for the kid... Clearly the Saints know this, therefore the $$ that's been thrown at him is simply irresistible. At the beginning of the year, I thought he was staying...as the seasons progressed, I have swung the other way - I really can't blame him!

Not surprising I know, but can confirm TDK a done deal to St Kilda. Happy for mods to ask source, but won't post publicly.
lf the Saints are stupid enough to give TDK a contract of this size it is not going to help them, they could very well lose Nasiah Wanganeen & Marshall on the back of offering ridiculous $ to TDK.

As much as we love JSOS, it would be hard to match an $800K 5 year contract for player that has played 29 games in 3 years. Could it result in a First round draft pick?
I wonder how much of this is opposition clubs firstly trying to rattle our cage re salary cap, which would be ironic considering both Collingwood and Geelong would well over the salary cap.
And B) managers just shaking the tree. I would hope we'd be rattling some cages and pointing some fingers given we are still now probably forced to play on an uneven playing field due to the past. While other clubs are virtually immune from scrutiny i.e Geelong first, Collingwood second. Few others as well
I don't hold out much hope for this current club admin finding showing any toughness of mettle though.
With maybe the execption of Wright being the only person capable of showing initiative.
