Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Charlie and Jack leaving represents nearly 19 years of IP lost, the equivalent of a mass exodus for any business. Adding Doc's retirement (14 years) on top of that only compounds the situation.

They'd all be big losses, sure... but list management doesn't work like a normal business.

You can't have players on the list for 20 years; footy clubs need to have turnover.

There's a yearly exodus of IP, replaced by new blood, increased experience for those who stay on the list and some mature recruits. Maybe not perfectly like for like, but it's kind of the circle of life...

Pitto is a capable first ruck, currently keeping TDK out of the gig. HOK is likely going to be very good, but in ruck terms is absolutely a baby. If we are conservative we grab a mature journeyman as insurance. I am very impressed by Flynn Riley and at 21 and from a lesser competition is probably at a similar development stage to HOK. To my knowledge Riley has no injury issues unlike HOK’s hammies so gives us a solid back up. Young is a capable foil in the ruck if needed so it makes perfect sense for him to play out his contract giving HOK and (if drafted) Riley more development time.

TDK is keeping TDK out of the gig....

What is he unhappy about? As in, he doesn’t like the game plan or how he is being used? Or just generally the whole coaching setup?
He obviously gets along with with his team mates so I’m guessing that’s nit the issue.

I really hope things can turn around and he stays and he can be happy there.
I got my son a great framed print of Charlie which hangs proudly in his bedroom. He’d be absolutely gutted if he leaves(along with all the kids….and adults )

I don't agree. We're in a mini-rebuild anyway. If players want out, that suits us.

I can't argue with TDK taking the money, even if he'd rather stay. It's a short career, and he owes it to himself to maximise it.

Not with drafts ludicrously compromised by Academy picks and Tasmania’s entry.

Player for player swaps historically don’t transpire, so it’s not like we’ll be replacing them with like-for-like.

It’s an unlikely scenario that all 3 go, but losing our best ruck, forward and defender (on 2025 form) is a catastrophe from my perspective.

No magic required with Charlie. I's simple, either we get picks or high-quality players to fill the void. Nothing less.
