Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

Yes to John Longmire. Someone who knows how to coach in the modern game and would be hurting from losing his last four Grand Finals and would be hungry for success. Also someone who these players wouldn’t dare not play for when the going gets tough. He'd bury them in the twos.
mmm....maybe if MV had tried that approach...who knows?

This is correct … I have him on insta and my first thought was , he is on the piss … why would a footy player post that
FFS, it's season pretty much over for us, he's more than likely going to play for another Club - unless he's not - which won't matter either way. Having a beer is hardly 'On the Piss'.

Walsh openly brags about getting on the piss and nobody seems to mind that.

The issue isn't him having a casual beer on his day off - it's jetting off interstate in a non-bye week, coupled with the beers, when we are a shambles.

If you're going to do this, don't advertise it on social media. ffs.

When has Walshy openly bragged about being on the piss??

How do you then equate Voss's use of Harry O'Farrell over the last few weeks?

He's been given precisely the same role Jack would be given were Jack fit. IIRC, he played his first or second game when Jack was fit.

He put considerable games into Ollie Hollands, Corey Durdin, Jesse Motlop and Sam Walsh early. He has shown significant faith in Will White and Matt Carroll. He gave a debut to Lucas Camporeale at the start of the year. Lord, Wilson, Moir.

Here's my complaint: if it were just one or two young players he's played, I'd concede he plays favourites and/or hasn't played the kids. But it's pretty ****ing clearly not been just one or two, nor has it been just this year but throughout his tenure here. He trusted Kemp with an AFL KPD post as his first gig in the big time. It's not one or two; it's a pattern of behaviour.

I agree with you. The only other coach who I think plays players injured as consistently is Ken Hinkley, and well...

I'd rather he not do it. I'd also rather have a head of footy with a ****ing spine who can keep the coach out of rehab and injury, who forces the coach to keep pressure off the medicos.

They also have that luxury because they don't have to deal with the broken mirror, black cat crossing your path, witches curse that is Carlton's injury history. Ditto use of the sub tactically; if you're forever having to sub blokes for injury, you're just not going to be able to execute a tactical sub.

I'd be interested in seeing stats to support this view, because without them I question how credible they are given this forum's predilection for believing their eyes.
Kemp only played as a key back at the start of his career because of injuries.

Our players will turn on the next coach like they have done with every coach before him.

All new coaches get a honeymoon period. We just need to win a flag with one before the romance wears off.

I wouldn’t even care if we sacked the coach six minutes after winning a flag. Just let’s win one.
