I've been calling for Buckley for a couple of years now. Would be exactly what this playing group needs.

Has to be Buckley. He's definitely keen if you listen to his segment on Whateley today. He's doesn't need to have his arm twisted like Longmire or Simpson. Those guys had success and sound completely burned out. They have nothing left to do - premiership players and coaches. Buckley wants another shot at climbing the mountain. He's had time out of the game, time to reflect on what he could have done better. He's ready, and he's the best available.

Following on from where we are now in 2025... I have changed my mind since last year.

From Longmire... to Enright.

I would bring in Hinkley... to replace Alan Richardson, as our footy manager.
Overseeing Cory Enright as head coach.

Jack Grimes has started a local footy coaching business thats popping up on my instagram, he'd be great!

Cheap at least, and if it all goes to shit we could relive the glory days of that post-148 interview on a weekly basis

Lever better be prepared to play a lot of VFL next season then if he wants to stay.

Nathan Buckley wont gift him games.
Nor would any of the other coaching candidates.
VFL Demons will have a pretty good team next year. Lever, Oliver, Salem ...

Horse and Simpson would be a great pairing.
Buckley alone is ready to go again and not a bad option.
What surprises me is that the supporters are happy yet great support from players.

Nathan Buckley said on SEN that he would talk to the club if they’re interested in him and wants to coach again.
I'm reading between the lines and presuming we've already reached out to him but he wouldn't talk to us while Goodwin was still in the chair.

I don't really agree with this. Don't think he really uses buzzwords at all, at least not in the way Goodwin did.

Buckley definitely didn't get the relationships right early days. He's admitted this openly, he's also said it's something he improved on as he grew into the role.

Think Daisy Thomas said earlier in the year Buckley actually called him asking for where he could improve, as the two butted heads early days.

That strikes me as someone who has the right attitude for the job, he's clearly very knowledgeable about the game.
And still has no premiership despite his longevity in the game. One of the greats of the 90s/00s without a flag doesn't sit right, he has unfinished business and can you imagine Eddies face if he finally did it with Melbourne?

Sounds like there's a bunch of succession plans in the works but I just got to ask, is that picture of Enright from when the Dees beat the Cats in his 300th game? Wouldn't it be so funny if he then became our coach!
Looks like Toumpas, Lumumba, Matt Jones, Rohan Bail closer to 186 than Enrights 300th

I got a similar vibe as he you could tell in what he said he had already been thinking about the club, players and state they were in.

At one point he was talking about the list and seemed to stop himself going any further on it.
