Re: 'Alleged' rumours resurfacing ...

Folks, this is the way things are here.

Posters are responsible for what they post. Moderators can not attest to the accuracy or otherwise of any rumour posted.

Moderators will intervene for a couple of reasons.

1. If a thread is threatening to be derailed because of a post.

2. If invested parties request the removal of material.

None of this draws a conclusion as to the accuracy or otherwise of the original post.

There is no need to further speculate. What will be will be.

Also, you need to remember that this thread like all parts of this forum is bound by the rules of poster conduct. If you want to express skepticism towards a rumour that's fine, but having a crack at posters who are contributors to this forum is simply not on and will be acted upon.

Simply put, don't be a dick.

Thanks all!

The rumour that has been doing the rounds, which I myself didn't believe because I thought Voss was absolutely GONE is

Adam Simpson to be Carlton senior assistant (edit: director of coaching, etc. Basically our Neil Balme type).

I stand by this opinion I shared last night.

Unless things turn around quickly next year Voss will quickly be the biggest "lame duck" coach we've ever had.

That said, I support the club and Wright on making this decision even if I don't agree with it.
That's basically where I'm sitting Wick, I disagree with the decision and think it will cost us some quality players at the very least, however I trust Wright's thoughts over my own, and the fact that this is quite an un-Carlton-like move surely bodes well for it being the right one, yeah?

Holding their nerve etc etc. Bottom line is I think he is a shit coach, but hey I have been wrong before. But I am about as unenthused about the remainder of this season and our future as I have ever been.

I am not normally a 'sack the coach' guy, but I just don't see it with Vossy.

We've got massive problems with our gameplan and it looks like he has lost the players.

I can't see what he can fix on those two by hanging around...

Guess Wright's review focused heavily a lot to blame may lie in a sprinkle of players, fitness and assistants. Best way to weed out the players who are not putting in due to nose out of joint with the "coach" or his methods is to not so to speak "negotiate with terrorists".

Lot of big businesses managed to clean out those not fully buying in by "return to office" mandates, weeding out those who didn't want to buy in.

Our assistant coaches better look like an All Star line up in 2026. Enright, Skipworth, Chaplin, Hickmott... Bring em all in!

in my world, into does not equal 'for'....

Used not once, but twice too. Clearly that language is delberate and well considered.

Provides clarity that Voss is coaching the rest of 2025, without guarnanteeing anything in 2026.

It's also a bit more vague than saying "Voss will coach out the remainder of the 2025 season" which invites speculation that he's getting sacked the moment the season ends.

‘The first of these….’ - no doubt more decisions coming.

I’m absolutely fine with keeping Voss. He’s shown resolve during this tough patch when others haven’t.

Maybe we will finally surround him with the help that he needs and weed out the players who haven’t shown that same resolve far too often.

The rumour that has been doing the rounds, which I myself didn't believe because I thought Voss was absolutely GONE is

Adam Simpson to be Carlton senior assistant.

Can't see how that would work. Surely they create a "Head/director" of coaching or some sort of sideways role on paper.

So if Voss does see out his contract and we lose a bunch of players this off season due to that are we to assume the board/Wright think we need to undertake a rebuild?

Surely if the players have made it known that they want out if Vossy remains the club would look at making a change to the senior coach?
Maybe Wright doesn't rate players who crack the sh**s and want to leave when they don't get their way? Addition by subtraction to get buy-in from the entire playing group, rather than a few high quality players upset and moody ruining the culture?

I don't have a stance on the matter, just offering an idea on how Wright may view it all.
