I don't really count Eddie Betts - 350 games, 132ish for us incuding his 300th.
Thommo I feel deserves to be listed amongst the other 4 (soon to be 5)
Don't count Danger either?

Daniel Menzel should get a more prominent SA media role, he’s very good to listen to

I listened to the Tradies podcast this afternoon and Mitch Cleary suggested at the end of the show that “a star of the competition that re-signed in the past 12 months is considering a move back to his home state”. He then quickly walked back “star” stating that star was too strong and that he was just a good player. That ticks all those boxes.

Where was ROB born?

Ross can talk.
Goes on about the saints seniors being fine at the club, then says they’ll be holding them to their contracts.
You don’t need to hold them to their contract if they are happy there.

There is a long way to go until trade week. 7 weeks? thats more than enough time for them to try and convince the list of players to stay. Cant blame them for trying to back themselves in at this stage. But lots of holes in the way Ross explained away the news. For starters an overly focused attempt to discredit Rucci does not actually make Rucci any less wrong. There would be very few people in footballing circles and the footballing public who have any respect for Rucci. So preaching to the choir has no substance really.

Alex Dodson debuting this week:

Collected 35 disposals and had 41 hitouts last week, a few weeks back he had 29 disposals, 35 hitouts and kicked 3.1. He's the one we should be chasing to replace Rob, should've drafted him last year but I digress...

How are the Saints so much better than us at drafting SA players?

TDK will fix his expectations when he arrives.

Watching Simon Goodwin in AFL360 now just reminded me how often Neil Craig said "capacity." Goody worked it in a few times

Remember when several had a shot at me suggesting Dodson wouldn't take that long to get AFL games.

Disagree re Dodson taking that long, shares a very similar draft profile (taller) to Luke Jackson who seems to handle the ruck OK when required. Sure not likely to play in 2025 but 5 years, nah. Athleticism and ball skills already better than a lot of AFL ruckman.

Another Sturt gun

Kochie asked about Davies leaving for Carlton on AA. Said he is contracted and won't leave. Plus he is instrumental in assisting Carr during the succession handover.

Tealters thinking Josh Carr will change anything will be in for a shock. Pretty obvious the Port hierarchy have groomed Josh Carr to be a Ken clone. The bloke was tough on the Footy field, but does seem a bit of a soft touch now. Another "happy to be a coach and be paud well" like Ken, that Koch and Cardone can control.

Nathan Buckley seems keen to coach, would probably love to coach his one Premiership club. But would be too strong in his own views. Would expect more Footy funding, which affects Kochie's main KPI for success.

Did chuckle at Kochie's jibe at us for losing people. "We don't lose people".

Does Koch realise that our club has been more successful than Port under his tenure. More Finals wins, made a GF, and won more Showdowns. Keeping people only works if they are good people...

Who have we lost besides Rahilly?

Do you think we (mistakenly) anticipated he would fall to our next pick in the draft or do you think we weren't interested at all?
I really don't know, I do think the reason he probably slipped was because recruiters who interviewed him may have doubted his long term commitment to AFL but he'd certainly showed enough to be a legitimate at least a late 1st round pick.

There certainly had to be something in the background that had recruiters concerned because this was not a skinny beanpole ruck prospect that was going to take years to develop physically.

Port can't help but show their little brother mentality when they sit there and take random potshots when asked questions that have absolutely nothing to do with our football club.

Itll be killing David that on Kennys Farewell Tour, we sit top and theyve been rubbish on and off field all year.
