I picked Gunston but I think it's a bit unfair to say there is no reason to select Georgiades.

More than disposals and clearances etc for midfielders, historically I think value has been put on scoring metric tallies for selecting AA forwards: goals, goal assists and score involvements.

And I disagree that you can just play 17 games and then having slightly better averages equals automatic inclusion. The more games you miss, the bigger the gap in performance there should be to push above those who played more. 1 or 2 games is likely inconsequential, but more than that and there could be a conversation.

These ideas aren't concrete but it's not black and white - it is nuance that should be discussed without the "your opinion is worthless and you have no reasoning" stuff.

Want to say my opinion of Georgiades over Gunston has been put to bed, today Gunston was special actually the whole month really.

Also why is Mr Meow suspended, he is great! This board is declining from what it use to has become very petty. (is this ok, I have my opinion?)

Harris Andrews is finishing strong, but has had better years and still missed out, including last year. I'm hoping this late flurry of good games late gets him over the line. He was very stiff to miss out last year.

Gotta feel for McCluggage, was the best winger in the game when they weren't picking wingers in the AA team. Now he's shifted to the midfield, they're selecting pure wingers. He's had his best year this year and is getting the tag most weeks. I can't see him making the starting team but hope he gets recognised with a bench spot.

Bailey Smith should be selected on a wing, I think. Insanely good start to the year where he looked like one of the best players in the comp. Recency bias probably counting against him with some posters.

Harris Andrews is first picked KPD. Even if he’s had better years, he shouldn’t be punished for setting his own high expectations. Bont and Daicos are both having “down” years but that doesn’t change the fact they’re still among the best of the best, and will likely get AA again

8th for one percenters per game
6th in players above 192cm, for rebound 50’s per game

Clearly not in the team, but how many KPD’s have had seasons better than him?

I'm not sure Gawn is a lock.

I think he should be (I'm biased), but it depends on how much they listen to Champion Data. Daniel Hoyne was adamant a week ago that Xerri and Grundy were ahead.

Where they have it over Gawn is clearances and tackles. Xerri has 7.0, Grundy 6.0 and Gawn 5.4. Their tackle numbers easily beat Gawn's.

The amount time spent on this is hilarious for something that means ultimately nothing.

Except it does mean something, because when determining Hall of Fame (which is an honour which should matter) they always reference the number of AA.

Luke Breust kicked 30+ goals a year his entire career (a total of 12 times - where Milne and Betts only managed it 9 times each) except for one year where he missed nearly half the season and the last 2 years when he has been Sub far more than he has played. Would 2 x AA be enough to get him in if he hadnt also won 3 flags? Because most players win 0 flags (like Milne and Betts).

I am sure a huge part of our game plan was to deny the next possession, knowing we couldnt stop him.

We also have a long history of kicking directly to him over and over and over but it only happened a couple of times in the 4th quarter.

I think you'll find he contributed to that pettiness a fair bit. But also I'm not a mod so couldn't tell you the reason
