Problem is, like Wines, he chose to bump. Probably should have elected to grope his opponent's private parts instead, then the AFL would have ignored it completely
Did he though? bumping to me means putting force into a opponent in a line that travels through them. Neale looks like he was just pushing past at low speed trying to keep his balance after an aerial contest on slippery turf.

Him being banned for this feels like satire

Port is challenging the Wines report and it'll be interesting to see on what grounds they challenge, but the thing to note in regards to the Wine/Lord report is that the bump occurred in the 2nd quarter and Lord kept playing - he was only subbed out in the 3rd quarter

If Port can find another contest that occurred between the Wine/Lord bump and when Lord was eventually subbed out, would it raise doubt if that bump was the only contributing factor to Lord's concussion?

What a load of old horseshit, he picks him up on his way through, not even aiming.
If the stupid camera work at the SCG wasn't even more horseshit that should be clearer.

AFL has possibility of five interstate teams in the eight, let's not let Geelong get too cocky.
Let's target a bloke just hitting his straps. An orchestrated litany of lies.

That looks shoulder on shoulder to me. Having said that we probably take it if it means Henry can get a game before finals
I'd appeal.

He doesn't deserve to have a suspension on his CV for such a nothing incident, and there's a huge opportunity for him to cash in on this great run of form this week going into the finals.

Echo the thoughts of others too, I wouldn't play Henry at all.

If he doesn't get off, debut Polk as a little teaser ahead of a big pre-season, and some reward for effort.

I haven't given up on Ollie, but it's a no in 2025 no matter what happens. Find him some positional flexibility, and get him right mentally over the summer.

From that footage, he doesn't get him high, and if he did, you could find 50 incidents a week of players being hit in the head harder than that in tackles that result in a free kick at best.

Sydney should be ashamed of themselves - the way they flop around is embarrassing.

"Always stay on your feet, unless there's a chance you can trick the umpire into giving you a free kick" - Sydney playbook rule 43a
Tom PApley take a bow. His flops are flipping embarrassing, and the umpires are onto it

That is a woeful decision based on the angles available. Very difficult to freeze frame, however I’m thinking perhaps they are relying on the swans medical report. If Neale’s shoulder hits the jaw, maybe.
Big mobile 7ft galoots like Neale would find it hard in any contest not to hit someone ‘head high’’

We should have an end of season ‘all Australian stagers’ team in the media perhaps with an Oscar to the winner. Pretty sure that will make players think twice about going for a dive.
(Addendum:Big shout outs to Nick Watson and the Hawthorn crew)

AFL and networks also jumping on the Jezza 100 train for tv ratings. Trying to force Scott's hand not to play him in the back half again next week.

I think the Neale suspension is horseshit but in the Wines incident Lord went to the bench for assessment immediately and didn’t play another minute

No comparison between the Neale and Wines incidents.

Neale would stand a very good chance of getting off on appeal given it must have been line ball on the grading being medium. The fact they handed down one week suggests to me that it was borderline. Must have been very close to a fine for careless / low impact.

Let's see what the club does, but Geelong tend not to poke the bear on this stuff and roll over and accept it. Steve Hocking would be well placed to advise on this one - as would Chris Scott if he felt inclined to call Brad who is not long out of AFL House.

Lord was back out on the field after the Wines bump - the bump Wines has been cited for was in the second quarter, Lord was still out there in the 3rd quarter for approx 10mins, even collecting a disposal before being subbed off

Jezza is team first, although competitive he couldn't give a rats. I said at the time they started the BS it's media drivel and too soon. He's got the Coleman, and apart from the feather in the cap, I wonder what they get financially for kicking 100?
Maybe incentive payments?
BTW: He got smashed in the head on Sunday, and Heeney should be cited for rough play as well. Where's those reports if the AFL are that soft?

There's one for stagers in Bay 13 if you can put your brain in park for five minutes to read it. :)
