Let's see. But that's the word floating around.

Stanley won't be risked.

IF it happens ...Edwards would be a little bit of a surprise but Stanley not being risked is the smart move imo. The last thing we need when our list almost has not injuries is have the guy holding the fort in the most vulnerable role to get a 4 weeker… before the finals..

Might it also give us a look at what stocks we do have and how far off he is..

The most disappointing thing about the Neale suspension is this will now be accepted as precedent on similar incidents when no one I know thinks this should be a suspension.

You’re assuming the AFL are consistent. No way will that be a precedent. They make it up on the run.

Well I wouldn’t view that as directionally helpful. It might get 2 weeks next time.

Josh Cowan had oodles of talent and a long, accurate kick. Could have been anything if he'd been able to stay on the park.

Could be nothing, a fine or 2. Who would know?

I'll humbly agree to disagree.
Do so, but you have no basis. The GFC has made it clear they think he was guilty, and have not challenged. Why do you stick to your opinion based on limited vision? Surely they would prefer he plays this week, and have continuity, unless he's injured, but even then, they would contest it to get him cleared, and then manage him.

And I thought it was pissweak. Why are you so eager to throw Neale under the bus? The footage I saw showed no head contact- I'm not about to start speculating about hypothetical camera footage from another angle that may or may not exist, or a hypothetical Sydney medical report that may or may not exist. IMO they should have appealed. Perhaps they felt antagonizing Michael Christian further on the eve of the finals would be a poor move. Or maybe Neale was due a "manage" anyway.
It's all been answered. Nobody is keen to throw him under a bus. Why can't you accept he just coukd be guilty? Unintentional, just wrong bump, wrong time, with head contact. Just because we don't see it, clearly the club has, as have the ones sighting and suspending him. This is circular. No conspiracy, just sometimes our players also get the unhappy verdict.

I have basis in the fact that there's not been a single frame of video showing Neale hit the head.

The club HAS NOT said he's guilty. Not once.

I get that could be insinuated by the club's 'no contest' but I don't think thats what their decision means at all.

I'm thinking they didn't want the distraction, or the risk to the soft cap, and weighed it up against our opponent this week and the opportunity to give Neale a rest before a demanding finals series.

To start with there was no bump Neile simply lent on him.
