He was outside the zone, then ran to where the mark was, umpire correctly called stand, and he kept running.

The player on the mark is not allowed to have it both ways by running to the mark, and then back off. You either have to stand on the mark, or get as far away from it as you can immediately.

We’re about to see more whinging, because the umpire has again, correctly adjudicated it.

Edit: also, insane for an umpiring standing inside the centre circle, to think a player will hear him on the outer wing with the crowd going crazy in the final few minutes.

You can’t run to the mark from outside the zone, and then back off. That defeats the purpose of the rule.
