And since then ? Like I say don’t know a lot but as a free agent I’d say don’t overpay unless we are clear on a role. I feel like half of Brisbane could have done that against the swans gf rabble.

Edit : looking at his profile he looks like a outside scab running non elite kick who is not accurate and doesn’t apply defensive pressure… we have a lachie schol already
Everything you have written about Ah Chee is wrong. I would suggest moving onto another topic - one that you do know about. He has literally nothing in common with Sholl. Would be a good get and well worth having - albeit a secondary need, as our focus should be a mid

Thank you for answering because despite knowing little I couldn’t see a clear fit. Which is what you have written. I guess I missed the memo where discussing something had to be on a topic you knew everything about.

Has Ah Chee ever been given a run in the midfield? Maybe that’s part of the appeal for him if we’re offering some time in there.

How about Treloar as a left field option? Seems out of favour at WB and could be handy for a a couple of years if Burgess and his team could keep him on the park.

Cotton call: In-demand rookie nears club decision after eight-team chase.

ADELAIDE is poised for a recruiting win, with the Crows in the box seat to land talented youngster Indy Cotton as a category B rookie as he decides between football and basketball.

Totally fair I’m only going on this years output and I said idk. Never been on my radar. So if we do trade for him then .. why? Genuine question. What missing piece is he for us ? And no I won’t “ sit this one out”. Who the heck do you think you are. I’m happy to talk and discuss. Closed mind set thinking we know everything. And as for spelling … let it go .. geez that shit gets old in the day of auto correct when it came up as school the first time. Like I said … happy to talk and discuss like an adult 👌🏽
No you have to be careful, if you have an opinion or say anything remotely right you will be ridiculed on here.

Treloar could be interesting. We may be able to get his body right, and the Bulldogs clearly can't. It wouldn't cost that much to find out.

I think the dogs would trade him for the right price. I would also look at Merrett. We just need an established midfielder. A team thats entering it’s premiership window, it could be appealing for those two.

This is exactly the sort of pick up we need now that we are finishing at or towards the top of the ladder, hopefully for the foreseeable future. To get a free hit at a round one type player in a position we need to fill with the immanent retirement of Tex is most fortuitous, if we can pull it off. We need to keep exploring these alternative pathways so that we keep our list fresh and do not have to go down the road of a full rebuild again. I suspect that he wants to live in Adelaide and likes what he hears of the healthy culture that the Crows have built.

Who else are you going to recruit? We're not buying a carton of milk here. They have to be available and willing to come to SA - no mean feat when most players are from Melbourne. At least we're finally having some on field success.

Not the worst idea - at least it's in the relm of plausible. Question is what's the cost and how many games does his body have left. Could very likely be a lost cause.

Calf injuries = avoid

Oliver is the one we will aim for if going down that route

Thought so, unfortunately.

Oliver the cost is too high - although in the relm of gettable. Has too many years left on his contract at too high of a price. And he's not the type of player to get the most out of himself in his later years.

I guess it could depend on how much we can get melbourne to pay ? Talk to ANB see what he thinks and burgess as well and if its worth the risk if they can get him back to his best then its a maybe

Dees will pay a % of the deal.

Would be a salary dump to some extent, he is keen to get back under Burgo and in peak condition.
ANB been talking it up

Can see if it ends up happening him thriving tbh

His form back end of the year did improve.
Needs peak fitness back to get that next level though.

Which he will get back under Burgo

Clarry has ADHD and I know for a fact being married to someone with it and a child with it, they can get a hyper/laser like focus on something
Thus why Clarry found himself in trouble with substances, they have an addictive personality

He wants to get back to his best, can see Burgo giving him a program and Clarry being hyper focused and going through pre-season getting shredded
And he knows that there will be some big provisos to a move here, having that hyper focus on success and fitness again will help keep him on track

I really hope we can get a deal done, will be an absolute bargain

If that happens we become alot more dangerous in the midfield

Interesting discussion and insights. Oliver at his best would certainly significantly enhance our midfield, complementing the likes of Dawson, Rankine, etc, and give us a few years to further develop it. Normally I would be cautious of such acquisitions that could have a detrimental effect on the culture we are building, but if Burgo (and ANB) know him and especially know how to get the best out of him, and help him order and stabilize his life, it could be a huge win/win outcome. The operative word here, however, is COULD. If the ex Melbourne guys reckon the risk is worth it, I am in.
