I feel sorry for the next team who has a star edge player asking for a new deal.

Yeah I can only imagine Carters price tag if he stays healthy.

The Packers rookie haze.

Its not actually a $12k bill. they call up before and let the restaurant know and have them fix up a bill with a bunch of fake shit and mess the the prices.

the 22 draft class up for deals in March. so Aiden Hutchinson is extension eligible. so i guess the Lions now know where the new Edge market sits.

and OL's in the NFC North will be earning their money or getting their QB killed

Mate, if the price of winning the Superbowl every year was losing to your embarrassment of a franchise twice a year, I'd make that sacrifice without a second thought! :D
Well same if it was losing to a hick shantytown worth billions less than ours ol son 🫶🏻

Been thinking about the trade, it felt light when first hearing and the the more I think about it - the less sense it makes.

GB are going to be a decent side, even if the lose in the wild card or divisional round this picks are 19-28. So hardly anticipating a huge bounty or the opportunity to move up massively.

Why trade him now? If he's on the market prior to the draft (25 or 26) - you're getting a real bounty and max value and you can use the draft capital immediately and you know what you're getting. Even if he held out all year for "injury" you're going to get great offers, much better than this rubbish.

Protect the run? Lol now they're not getting to the QB at all.

Because Jerry is an idiot. Could of got another 1st if they did the trade pre draft, trade value is at a low point at this time of year.

Dallas could of got the deal done for $43-45m if they did it earlier and stayed at the 40 they offered in Feb without ever going back to thr table with another offer.

Lot of pressure on Donovan Ezeiruaku to perform straight away, they will definitely be drafting an edge next year. They will probably try and get a deal done with Pickens asap now given they traded a 3rd for him and hes a free agent next year. The Eagles have had success where they pay the offense and go cheap/fill the defense with draft picks, maybe they are going to try and copy something like that.

Keep in mind, a 1st in 26 and 1st in 27, and four 1sts altogether in 26-27 collectively....those drafts are going to have ao many better players than what the 25 draft class had. It was pretty shit this one.

So yeah....Dallas could've signed hin earlier and cost him less, manageable to do it with Prescott and Lamb if all done early, and Jerry always makes this mistake of dragging things out which only makes it worse, pay more.

But at the same time, better to have four 1sts next two years than using an extra 1st in this years draft....especially if DT was their goal whilst also picking up a highly talented Edge rusher.

If he aigned Paraons early, maybe rhey couldve traded for or drafted a top DT run-stopping prospect and wouldve had vest of both worlds. A demon edge rusher and a run-sruffer. Now they have neither really.

Lastly tho....as I believe....sometimes teams re-sign their handful of stars and it's taking up over 60% of their cap, and that team keeps failing to go to the SB. Better to reset imo....trade those expensive players for boatloads of picks, rebuild thru the draft, tons of cap space to sign key big name cets and also fill out a roster with cheap high level vets.

Look at the way the Texans rebooted their franchise. Shedding Watson etc for picks galore, clever trades, increase cap, rebuild thru draft, and they're contenders, got a franchise QB on rookie deal...so the window is there for another say 5 years....if they keep failing to make SB, you'll eventually see them do the same....trade older elite stars rather than resign them and hamper yourself from filling out a strong roster.

Patriots won a ton of playoffs/SBs with no-namers, cheap vets, castaways, etc, because Belichick was a master Def mind and could get the most out of all the players. Brady as a reliable chess-master QB could hold the other end.

It takes more than one or two elite players to win. You need a team, clever coaches, a strong D. Also, there have been years where orga tried to "dream team" it, using all their massive cap to sign and trade for elite talents, and they seldom worked in the end

The fact he think Kenny Clark is a big win is funny, dont think hes been good in years, living off reputation of what he was 3+ years ago.
KC is a worker. Didn't always have the stats but did the dirty work and made it easier for others to clean up.

I'll miss him.

Rashan Gary a big winner out of it. Been pretty disappointing after getting paid but should find it a lot easier now with a lot of attention on Parsons opposite him.
Gary has always got pressure but didnt always finish. Played his best when Preston Smith was helping on the other side and would clean up what he couldn't finish.

Hafley can cook up some crazy pressures now with how Cooper also played last season

I mean Dom Capers had Preston Smith line up at CB over Justin Jefferson once so wouldn't be the strangest thing us Packers fans have seen.

We may have fixed our pass rush and CB problems at once.

He just doesn’t learn which shows he’s either too arrogant, too dumb or both. I think it’s more the former and he feels like he has to win and show what a tough guy he is. Too late with Prescott which ends up in a ridiculously overpriced contract that could’ve been tens of millions cheaper. F**** up Lamb contract. Should’ve extended Parsons last year but stagnates and watches as Crosby, Garrett and Watt get big deals. Again costing himself millions and a franchise player. Laughably clueless

And how much success has all this 'value' brought again??

Cos clearly, the higher a franchise is valued equates to success on field, right Cowboy fans???

Yeah these type of monster trades as much fun as they are, how often do they help deliver ultimate success? I'm probably blanking but cant think of one off the top of my head.

Only one that comes to mind that delivered a SB was Charles Haley 40 odd years ago....and that was more Haley being shipped.

Jerry wasn't all the credit. And if he gets blame he doesn't care because people are still talking about his team. As long as they are leading the news cycle he doesn't care. Like 6 days from kickoff. The sports shows are not talking about the Eagles, Chiefs or Bills today it's all about Jerry and the Cowboys like he wants.

He cares more about off field evaluations then on field success

You dont see top 5 players at a position traded often. Packers had been looking for a proven edge the last couple of years. Looked at Trey Hendrickson pre draft. And made calls to the Raiders last offseason about Crosby.

Like CMC was the last one? Can't remember any recent WR trades when they were top 5 in the league before the trade.

The chances are the Packers wouldn't of got a player in the draft the same caliber as Parsons with the picks traded and our recent edge scouting. Dallas might end up with a elite rusher or something else or might end up with someone like Drew Aller and stay in QB purgatory. Because some team will take Aller in the 1st round next April.
