Josh Lindsay getting tagged or tanking to get to certain club?

He’s often been tagged but I think Farrow and Xavier Taylor have really caught up. Think a few recruiters will see Lindsay as a little one dimensional.

One of the channels I watch, Daz has us taking the following in his mock draft:
1. Willem Duursma
2. Dyson Sharp
15. Sam Cumming
21. Sam Grlj

That would be quite the haul for us.

Zaydyn Lockwood had 28 disposals, 34 HOs, 7 marks and 11 tackles in today's Wildcard game. We need a ruckman right?
you beat me by 36 minutes you ****, hes a kpd too

Important data to note -

Sharp follows Harley, West Coast, Freo and Essendon on Insta (not Richmond or either SA club)
Duursma still follows only Harley, West Coast, North and Essendon
CDT follows Harley but only Essendon
Mm good stuff thanks for the important data. Can we get an AsterixTheGaul style running excel spreadsheet? Colour coded, no red or green if possible please. I'm colourblind

As much as i'd enjoy it, and that haul in particular.... there is a snowballs chance in hell the club takes 4 midfielders in the draft.

  • + Kobe NGA (mid)
  • + Bannas (mid)

40 and 3 yesterday. Any vic based watchers that can tell us a bit more about Robey? Eastcoasteagle eaglespremiers ? Clearly has some AFL attributes and if we can pinch a bib bodied, fast mid late in the draft I’m very interested. Has a state combine invite so someone is watching.

Sorry to intrude, but he’s Tigers nga.

Lindsay up to 2 rubbish and 1 ordinary game in his last 3. He relies too much on teammates getting him the ball. Plus his elite kicking has been rubbish in those games. He isn’t a top 5 pick.

Has played KPF for eastern since about champs. Caught him vs Gippsland originally and he basically went toe to toe vs Duursma athletically. He did some jaw dropping things, like full pelt pick ball up off toes and snap goals.

Been watching him since and a huge fan. He has great hands and serious physicality and works hard defensively (if you want an example noobs Lindsay vid vs Eastern the guy who runs down Lindsay in 3rd is Robey). Disposals is technically good but needs to be more consistent. Was thinking all year watching eastern if he shows midfield prowess he could go high.

Lo and behold a 40 touch 3 goal game in an elimination game at his size and athleticism is insane. I don’t think you’re getting him for less than your hawks pick now. I’d been hoping he slid to our rookie pick with Oskar Taylor but I think he’s Ranges best talent ahead of Greeves and XTaylor and I love both.

Cheers for the info. Having seen a bit of him how do you think he’ll test at the combine? Looks like he has speed but at that size it’s probably just straight line which suits a forward but maybe not a midfielder which is where we’d want him to spend a lot of time?

I think he’ll test well, like I said he played on Duursma and matched him for speed, agility and in the air when Duursma was marking on everyone else. There’s one play in Noobs Duursma vid vs ranges where he beats Duursma on the lead then turns him and they basically go step for step back towards f50.

I think he’ll start as forward but end a mid/forward. He just does stuff at ground level that few his size can do.

Seems to have left out pick 7 for GCS which will be traded to another club. Hopefully us.
After picks 1 and 2 how about Farrow at 11, Fred at 16 and then Swadling or any combination of the 3.
As young rucks take years to develop strength and bigger bodies we will have to look at trading in someone better than what we have got if we can find one.
Getting the ball out of the centre and also blocking the opposition mids from strolling away with it is crucial to our rebuild.
We can convert mids into HBF,HFF and Wingmen, so it wouldn't matter if the best available picks for us are all mids.

Don’t think that would be a bad outcome but our lack of list cuts means that would be very unlikely. We could be scrambling to take 4 players, let alone 5.

Agree with your point on rucks. Don’t mind if we take a KPP that might be able to ruck like an Ainsworth, Murray etc with a later pick, but don’t want to be drafting a ruck that dabbles as a KPP.

The ruck FA market is worth keeping an eye on over the next couple of years. We won’t have any decent FAs to lose and having their compo diluted.

Yes, he made the initial squad of 35 for WA in the U18's championships.
He is an underage player along with other train on WC NGA players G Kenh/R Farmer/L McGlade.
Noticed they have updated the WAFL heights on players and is already 196cm and 85kg!
Who does he play for?

Much better players will be available than Fred at 16.

Is there a date by which we have to finish cutting our list and have we finished our culling ?
We've cut Petro, Rawlinson, Jamieson, Hunt has retired plus the retirements of Gov and Sheed which equals 6.
Barnett and Livingstone could still be casualties.

I know absolutely nothing about drafting but with picks 1 and 2 id take duursma, bid on annabelle, then take sharp.

If we draft CDT to play him as a ruck that will take years.
Will take years and may never succeed.

And for a team in desperate need of a rebuild.

Probably never get draft assistance again if we make this gross mistake. :sunglasses:

I'd be developing Archer Reid as a backman and looking to split pick 1 for 5 & Essendons F1. Their pick next year is either going to sit in an amazing place for a top prospect of if they climb a bit at a good spot for one of the 2 top tier ruck prospects. Next year if his development continues then Benji Van Rooyen is definitely worth a top 10 pick imo.

If we get extra list spots then yes someone like Blight i'd probably give a run or at least a trial for SSP. If this is the case whomever is the weakest link out of Bazzo or Blight next year gets cut, potentially even both.

I think i've been the only person strongly advocating to move a first rounder into next years draft.
I want an immediate sugar hit now, not to keep pushing it out into next year.

Cumming over Grlj you say?

I agree, I think they’ll be at the top of their wish list but wouldnt rule out CDT and Lindsay. Apparently looking at Marsh too.

Marsh is a need for us (yeah I know, everything’s a need for the wooden spooner) and if we could manufacture an upgrade of our pick 3 for a SA 190cm odd, booming kick fwd who is good in the air and on the ground, sign me up.
