Collingwood are anything but shoe-ins, are they in trouble?

Pies do look a lot better when Degoey is performing well. But I don't think they are likely to be good enough to win a Preliminary and Grand Final to take out the flag.

I believe congratulations are also in order for N Daicos recording his highest rating final ever, 16.9. Roughly half the rating of Dusty's best handful of finals and wouldn't make Degoey's top 5 rated finals. But important step for the arch receiver to rate in the top 9 players in a final for the first time ever.

Did everyone enjoy the game last night?

I did!

Unfortunately my club has been the victim of home finals losses to the Pies multiple times, so I can say from experience that winning an away final is incredibly tough and all credit to your lot. Deserved to win and although it pains me to say it, I think you're flag favourites.

Sadly for the Pastries they are as slow as a wet month. They now have to revert to playing at a much wider ground, where they have massively struggled late season v Dees, Hawks, Lions, and even struggled to defend lowly Tigers d50 to f50 ball movement despite winning comfortably.

The Crows have been struggling to shift ball in recent matches and the skinny ground and this particular matchup suited Collingwood, especially with the Crows two very classy small forwards missing. They will need plenty going their way to win a Prelim let alone a Prelim and Grand Final. Others better.

With their geriatric list and bugger all quality youth, the outlook is not strong. But the worse they are the less other teams will worry about picking up the arch receiver, so Fadge will be deliriously happy counting all the Daicos votes. :tearsofjoy:

Who are the best 2 or 3 teams left then?

Hopefully the 15th placed Crows easy draw and finishing position made Collingwood's win look better than it was, and Geelong or Brisbane will stop them.

Looked like an Essendon match. Neither could hit the side of a barn door. Terrible skills. Cats, Lions, Hawks will run rings around them.
Lol - Coll DE was 71%, comparable to all those team - but the question for them, is whether they can withstand our sustained pressure.

Smashed both BNE and HAWKS in season - they hold no fears.
And as we proved last night the minor premiers had no answers to our pressure in the same way as BNE and HAWKS, per above.

As for your naive points about our defence, you do realize we are the number 1 rated Defence in the league.

The genuine threats imo are Brisbane, GWS, and only because they have a full healthy list and had a dream draw to allow a comprehensive finals preparation, the Cats. Hawks might be some sort of threat if they had Day, but couldn't see the best they have available winning it in 2025. Suns are a year short of mounting any serious challenge. Freo could do some damage but still a bit young I think. Crows can't seem to move the ball and not sure they will be able to repair that during a finals series but Rachele and Rankine back may make a huge difference to them if they can get that far, which I doubt.

Collingwood if they were to win it would have to be the worst performed second half of the season team to win just about in history, last night v a team who had reasons to lose was their Grand Final.

The loser of Lions v Cats should really waltz through to the GF by beating I think Freo then Pies.
