This first half is why I've said several times there's no chance Humphrey will be included in a Charlie Curnow trade, even straight up 1 for 1. He is every part as important as Rowell and Anderson to the Suns going forward.
that's why trading him is impossible to get what we want

If say a player had been caught for drug use 3 times, what would be the fourth strike penalty? In this what if scenario…

Xerri is definitely a dirty ruckman.
How true that is....as I can still picture him elbowing TDK after he had disposed of the ball and was wide open, which was when he copped the rib fracture and the punctured lung. I watched him more after that, and he is a sly dog when it comes to cheap shots as his hit on the Demon guy was 100% intentional as he was not even looking at the ball. I guess this sort of stuff is encouraged by "king hit clarko!!!"

I very much respect your opinion, and I do like what Haynes brings, but they are very different defenders. Haynes is a sweeper who plays a lot upfield, but Jack was a farily solid defender, who knew when to go and when to stay back. I think Gov and Haynes are more alike than JSOS. This is what makes JSOS's loss more severe I think. Weiters finally had some freedom to get out of the arc without worrying about who was back there covering the square.
I was worried about JSOS playing in defence due to his lack of pace, but his reading of the play more than made up for that as he was just so good at cutting off the oppostion kicks by chipping in and taking a strong grab in front of the pack.I agree that Jacks' loss is more severe, especially as it seemed like he had finally found his niche in the backline after being used as a "spare parts" player by all the coaches he played under. Being last picked, first dropped led to him walking it seems and that`s the irony in all this, as we will now have to find another backman to take his place.

Media scrutiny

Never let the media dictate your list management.

However, they continue to take them to task for that move almost every time someone suggests they need to add as much high end talent as possible whilst conveniently forgetting that the player who was the consensus selection in that spot - and the player we took - didn't get on the park at all this year

Jack Martin? Honestly! He played 10 games of the home and away season for 10 goals, and was the sub in a final and kicked one goal.

If he'd played 10 games for us this year we'd have been, once again, bemoaning the retention and reliance on injury-prone and unreliable players.

Geelong are a good enough side that they don't need Martin. He's a low cost, talented icing on the cake type that they can manage through the season and play, if fit, to make an already dangerous forward line a little more unpredictable.

Jack Martin playing for Carlton doesn't fix anything, because our issue is the 15 other blokes who can't hit a target or even kick to advantage. If any of them are upset cause Jack's gone and now they're under the microscope instead, maybe they should just focus on their own off-season programs, to try and be part of the solution, rather than yet another hurdle someone else is expected to overcome.

It's pretty easy to argue that we've seen Jack's best, briefly, already...

28 in December. appears his body doesn't take the rigours of senior AFL footy well...?

Not arguing about the roles they play... never said they did the same thing. Just Haynes is a far more accomplished player...
