It's ironic how the touched behind was better than a goal.

A goal and there is some minute chance that Freo could fluke an answering goal from the centre square.

But there was 0% chance of them kicking any score from 130 meters from the kick in.

Score review in the first quarter to determine a behind or a throw in was the difference too.

What are they paying Shai Bolton?

Plus, Bolton had 82 shots on goal in season 2025: 28 goals, 29 behinds and 25 no score (out of bounds/on the full, didnt make distance etc). That's a goal accuracy of 34.1%....that is clearly not good enough. Bad kicking on goal is as bad as any turnover, an errand handpass or errand kick.

Don't lose those receipts.

That was a great game .

That finish had me jumping out of my chair. I was so pleased for Swallow and the club.

..and this week in Qld should be front and centre on all media outlets.

Couldn't get a better promotion for AFL up there than both teams playing off in a final.

...however, SUNS will be the enemy come game time, so go LIONS!!

This is hard to watch. Whenever gws try to be physical the hawks players flop. And all the hawks are ducking for high frees.
I thought the umpires were going to be hot after the Rayner incident, especially when Briggs went down after literally copping a high jumper lunch to the chin.

Nope. Hawthorn just caught their eye better than a 2m player getting hit in the face.

Foxsports today pointed out that the Cats victory over the Lions marks Geelong’s eighth preliminary final appearance in the last 10 seasons — including six of the last seven.

Absolutely a magnificent level of consistency but would they be happy with 1 flag in 2022 out of that many opportunities to win it all?

Albeit a great chance of making it 2 in 10 years this season.

Personally I'd rather win 3 in a bunch over 4-5 seasons then go down for a while and reset for another crack.

Little bit of media talk that Jed Walter might be gettable.

Don’t have the picks or players to satisfy GCS. Think he will be a good player in 3 years.

Unless you’re getting rid of Jed to bring in someone you think can immediately put you in the flag window for 3-4 years I don’t know why GCS would trade him. They don’t need picks.

Oh, I don't believe we can get him.

Might be a case that Jed wants out or Dimma doesn't rate him.

KPP who has only just turned 20. He was a bit of a liability when he was played earlier in the season, despite the talent being evident.

The talk is a swap of him and Curnow at Carlton. It might have been King and Cornes who discussed it, so if it was, there isn’t much in the way of intelligence with those two, so probably just made it up.

Also discussed on The Age Real Footy podcast.
