He is entitled to shop himself around to get the best deal for himself, not just financially but also the success he wants. I guarantee you he isn't the only AFL captain who is doing it.

ZM is just in a unique situation where the club consistently feeds him bullshit and doesn't deliver on their end of the bargain - he has played over 250 games.

Have you only ever had one job? lol

I hold no grudges if he asks to leave, i just want the right price from it for the club.

Nope but in my current job there is zero tolerance for shopping yourself around and if found out I’d be out the door that afternoon.

I’m happy for him to leave but I also am not too blind to think we should or would gets a Kings ransom for him

Realistically, his output deserves multiple first round picks. He’s your captain, so more might be asked for.

But he’s 30 and won’t see any success in the near future and is on a fat contract.

To me, a 1st and a 2nd is around the mark, but I can see pride getting in the way on the Essendon side.

Also currency wise we have some much cap space we could pay for it if it meant a deal was met etc

Hopefully pride does not get in the way realistically this is a good chance for us to do what we should have done back in 2016
