2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

It's amazing, when you put the energy into becoming relevant you become relevant again. Nas becoming a premium product is absolutely huge for our credibility and marketability.

The side should look a lot more exciting next year too. Ryan is a showman, TDK is a marketers delight, Aleer jumps like a gazelle, Tauru the man who will sell a heap of plastic helmets, Wilson kicking mini bags, Snags running around like Papley on speed, Nas doing the pretty stuff, our little goal farmer in Hall, a fit King. We might not be massively improved but we should be a lot more exciting to watch at a minimum.

This is how you make people want to put you in the Friday night games.
Just need Caminiti to work on his rooster strut and head bob like Patrick Voss if he gets moved back forward.

Ross needs to make sure his goal celebrations are 100m long minimum too. Train that shit and then pump it straight into my veins.

Agreed. Some players have a song when they kick a goal, others like Hammer should have a Shoaib Akhtar like run up high-fiving all his team mates after every goal.

What a wasted talent Billings was. Hard to tell if it was natural progression of others that left him behind, or gifting of games when he and others probably didn’t deserve it, which naturally made them think they had made it before learning what the actual hard work was.

Real lost era for the club
Had talent and was a solid citizen - we were pathetic @ development @ a crucial stage - we played a big part in finishing his career.

Wonder if Essendon have the balls to gut Gresham now or give him another year? Guess its not like there's much competition for places in their set up, they may as well keep him on.

At least Membrey, Long, and Battle are doing OK.
Club gets a lot of criticism when it gets thing wrong - 100% the correct decision to offload Gresh - smart!

Billings had a heap of injury issues ..... not sure why some ignore this

When he was fit and firing he was very very good
Very good talent wise but mentally just not capable of delivering. Too safe, melted when we needed him to be clinical. The opposite of Nas.

Would have been perfect as supporting player in a group of guns with a strong system and decent coaching.

Sure I'm not alone here but absolutely love what the club has been doing in trying to get better on and off the field. Confident in its approach and sticking to the plan, next season promises to be a cracker. Stick it up 'em Saints!

Nothing is promised but we are ALL IN. Ross and AB are doing everything they can to give us a shot and not just fluke one year like Demons and Bulldogs did. Most oppo won't even realise what we're doing until its too late to stop us.

It could be a case of early ripe, early rotten for Billings. But it certainly exposes our poor or lack of player development during the past. An area the club has greatly approved under this management
If only Bassat had been at the helm 20 years ago!

Billings should have played like Max Hall.
Billings wasn’t the star we expected but he was a very good player for us until injuries stopped him in his tracks.

I don’t blame Jack it’s on the club, what a terrible period that was. Sinclair was a D grade scrub according to the brains trust in and out of the team, long had all the tools we just couldn’t figure out how to use them and there were plenty more.

I wouldn’t hire Richo to coach the two’s in southern, Buckley’s first job if he takes the Melbourne gig should be to say pack your stuff up you human potato and get out.

Melbourne are a cesspit who’ve wasted a team that should have won multiple flags, biggest clown show in the league imo.

Blows me away that we didn't see the dogs and dees win multiple flags.

Sorta hope dogs can win one next year for Wilks 😅
