Terribly sad to hear about Bonehead.

I know literally any semi-competent guitarist could do his job, hell I’m tempted to email them videos of my Stand By Me cover, but as the sort of heart and soul of the band who has stayed mates with both the brothers through thick and thin, been so beloved by them, been the subject of one of their funniest songs, and had one of the most enduring nicknames in music I’m very disappointed he won’t be part of the Aussie shows and hope he can recover. He’s beaten it once, hope he manages to do it again.

I’m so amped to see them. I know their music divides people who don’t see the merit in it, much like a lot of people sneer at Nirvana from just a few years earlier. But you don’t have to be Eddie Van Halen to be a great artist. Noel blows 98 per cent of famous melody writers out of the water and to me along with attitude, that’s the foundation of a rock band. If you can add the other stuff into it like great musicianship then that’s a handy bonus and good luck to you and I love many bands that do that but very few make me want to sing along like 15-20 songs that Noel wrote at the peak of his powers.

Itching to hear Liam’s first ‘shi-yun’ in Cigarettes and Alcohol.

Such a shame he will miss the Australian shows but of course his health is the priority.

I'm not the only one that thinks the 3 guitarists has improved them live and they have never sounded better on this tour.

They have transcended a generation with this tour and their legacy has now been set in stone.

It used to be cool to hate them 20 years ago and those who said (there were many) that this tour would flop and wouldn't sell now look like fools.

The brothers know it as well, they have been as happy as pigs in shit on stage.

F**king oath. It’s set their legacy in stone now I think, if it wasn’t before. Just watching footage of some of their shows - obviously you know what the reaction will be like in England but seeing the start of a song like C&A in Mexico City and that first beat of the bass drum after the guitar intro and the crowd just goes berserk for a song that wasn’t even that big at the time anywhere but their homeland reminded me a lot of some of the clips of a band like AC/DC playing in Argentina or something with those colossal crowds just in party mode.

They’re a good time band. I get to take my two sons - 16 and 17 - who have never been to a full on rock show. I’ve seen AC/DC and U2 - who were for a long time my favourite band and to be honest they put on a f**king incredible show. But this is something I know will stay with me forever. Some of Oasis’ music just because of its very simple and generally positive vibe has gotten me through the worst periods of my life.

I don't get why the Stone Roses reunion was all but ignored here, when they were playing stadiums in Europe I saw them with maybe a thousand others and they weren't even top billing at The Future Music Festival. I still have them comfortably as the best British band since the Beatles and without them you could construct a no Oasis argument.

Without doubt there’d be no Oasis without the Stone Roses. I’ve not been able to quite take to them but I appreciate the role they’ve played in a band that I hold very dear to me

Going to all 3 shows in Melbourne.

Beside myself that this is actually happening.

Seen them live 4 times and can’t believe I’m almost going to double that in a couple of weeks

Just watched the Knebworth documentary on Viceland. Listened to Slide Away on it - where he was absolutely faultless on every song - then listened to the Slide Away version from Cardiff(?) on the reunion tour. It’s remarkable given how bad Liam’s voice got at one point from the booze, smokes and drugs, how well it’s recovered. He doesn’t have the sustain he once had but he’s hitting the notes perfectly.

His voice really went down hill from about 2003 - 2015

I remember seeing him with Beady Eye at Big Day Out in 2014 (?) and it was awful

I saw him solo in 2019 and it was much better and also saw him again in 2022 and he sounded sensational

Slide Away is my favourite song (have a tattoo of a line from it on my arm) and he is singing it as good as ever right now

Nice!!! Which line did you get??

I honestly don’t know what I’d get if I did - I have a suspicion I might get one in the days that follow the Sydney show. My life has gone to shit and I sort of feel like I need to hang on just to breathe some life back into myself like it will be therapeutic.

As shallow as it seems - and I don’t drink all that much anymore to be honest though I still enjoy a beer - smokes get me through my day to day stresses so if I had a life philosophy it would almost be ‘All I need are cigarettes and alcohol.’ It is my favourite song so it would make sense on that score.

I am a Christian and though they couldn’t be further from it, maybe something as simple as ‘We’re all part of the masterplan’ wouldn’t go astray.

Two of a kind, we'll find a way in Helvetica Black Oblique

I think getting his teeth knocked out around 20 years ago really effected him for about a decade.

Some of his vocals on the Beady Eye albums are pretty average.

I went through my phone and was listening to some videos I took of the LA shows and his voice sounds so powerful and clear.

I don't know if there is a mystery vocal coach they all go to but a lot of these older guys who sounded average years ago are now suddenly sound good again.

It's been the same with Roger Daltrey from the Who.
