I know my rep on here is nothing but I have a well-connected source that Jackson is 100% staying.
One less stress to worry about
Its very hard to compete when we either dont make finals or barely scrape in and then get knocked out in the first week. As much as we all hate him, Sam Mitchell cut that team deep and is way ahead of us already in the rebuild.Zach Merrett apparently wants trade to Hawthorn.
Fremantle has to compete with this.

10 teams in Melbourne means the chances of getting a high profile Vic player out of there is nil, the right thing to do is while bringing new teams in **** off some Vic teams.Zach Merrett apparently wants trade to Hawthorn.

Why did you add bolton and Jackson they’re guns compared to anyone on that list none there i’d swap for those two.JOM, Bolton, Jackson, Brodie, Sharp, Aish.
Not quiet as good is it
Jackson would be a top 5 player in just abou every team, you could argue Bolton could be in most teams too when he's in form.Why did you add bolton and Jackson they’re guns compared to anyone on that list none there i’d swap for those two.
because those are the players we brought in. Why wouldn't I add everyone ?Why did you add bolton and Jackson they’re guns compared to anyone on that list none there i’d swap for those two.
Except you didn't add everyone. Missed Clark and we kinda brought in Voss from Essendon.because those are the players we brought in. Why wouldn't I add everyone ?
Voss counts if D'Ambrosio counts IMOExcept you didn't add everyone. Missed Clark and we kinda brought in Voss from Essendon.

It’s the depth of extra talent that they can access that’s the issue as opposed to the names.Zach Merrett apparently wants trade to Hawthorn.

Forgot Gunston who they have brought in twice from other clubs (Adelaide and Brisbane). He's so old that people might forget they poached him from the Crows. For pick 24. Just emphasises the point above how they have access to players for peanuts that we will never have.
Meek was indeed considering the value he has added to them as wellThey rarely miss with the players they target, and get them for unders.
This is the key point. I’d even say it’s less than that actually. It’s really only the big vic clubs that happen to be in contention at that time.People are jumping at shadows a bit. On average about 55% of draftees come from Victoria, and 18% from WA. So proportionately the eagles and Freo should be attracting more home grown talent than an average Vic club.
Of course one problem is the Vic distribution is not even - the 55% isn't spread amongst 10 clubs but 5 or 6. But even so, we should be more competitive in getting talent drafted to a club outside WA back to us than we are.
As has been said earlier in this thread, the thing to worry about most into the future is the poor junior development pathways in WA so our state's proportion of draftees over time will fall
)
Old profile tho, a lot of key performers for them 30+ & a few just under.Zach Merrett apparently wants trade to Hawthorn.
