2025 List Management Discussion - Part 3

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

Free Agency Period:
Friday, October 3rd - Friday, October 10th

yes and with regards to the afl injury list, apparently all clubs were told to be more transparent, geelong one of the worst with there just putting short/medium/long term and no other details, thats when his name came off their injury list
That whole thing was a specific response to the Tanner situation if i recall correctly

Massive risk John. Do we really want to go there, regardless of the talent JUH has?

We would need to see and hear evidence that the lad is turning his life around.

The other issue is what would the Bulldogs want in a trade? Presumably little, but they aren’t very happy with Saints at the moment.
It is a risk no doubt, i think obviously they'd do there due diligence. In terms of environments for an indigenous player to have maximum support we are the best in the business in that space.

You are definitely paying a premium on potential still. His numbers are fairly good, he just looks a bit bland still at this point to me. Could be a good average middler or a jet but you are paying on his potential jet future.

It is a horrible draft so wouldn't be against trading out of it for a more known quantity still.
He’s been pretty ordinary gringo.

He doesn’t rack up huge numbers at vfl level and has only kicked 4 goals. At afl level he averages about 15 and has kicked 12 goals from 46 games. He’s a classy user and we would have a very good idea of what his talents are but what’s he really worth now.

JUH gives Lovett and Bennell vibes. No thanks.

The more recent example is Thomas and it seems when they go so far down that path its almost impossible for them to drag themselves out. You can imagine the dirt his so called contacts would have on him, once they get their claws into these kids they dont let go. The money that JUH has available would be a big draw card for these parasites.

Im not sure about that, the Giants played 12 minutes of footy and still should have won that game.

They probably should beat Adelaide TBH but im not sold on the crows either and the Hawks timing seems to be perfect with the illness running through them.

The hawks are exciting and i might be wrong but if you need two a grade mids to make it to a flag then youre further away than the cusp to me.
They have them, Day, Newcombe plus Weddle can play mid.

After that some promising younger guys plus Worple, then they have Ginnivan, Watson etc who are all more than just forwards. It’s a sneaky good list much as I hate to say it.

Bit unfair comparing JUH to Thomas and Lovett, like what has he actually done other than trolling rooey and peacing out from bevo and co? I mean we've all done our fair share of monday night 4am investigative journalism at revs have we not? If he was serious about having another crack then I say go for it, if his application appears conditional then give it a miss

ended up in drug rehab during the regular season and has not met the requirements of a listed player i.e. attend training

yeah so, he had a substance abuse problem, that is nothing like Thomas or Lovett, in fact he has more similarities with baily smeth. If he's got his shit together and is proper serious then we should be open to it

I personally think JUH is likely cooked, but I trust the club if they think he deserves a second chance
This is the main thing. Based on verifiable, publicly available information, there is no way to make any meaningful judgement call.

Trust that the club will do their due diligence.

I'm not concerned about any of our young players being led astray. Well, except maybe for Caminiti now that we've established he's a moron.

yeh he hasn't been convicted or charged of a crime but his association with certain might no doubt have the AFL on edge
