Everyone on here carried on last year about losing too much depth. This year depth coming in, nah don't want them

Not for everyone but for some, I’m sceptical of this depth because, adding these players isn’t improving our depth if they are just replacing other solid players.

If we weren’t losing TDK, SOS, Gov, Hollands then adding Jiath, Khamis and Chesser would be what I call, adding depth. At the moment I’m not really seeing how we will have improved the quality of the list, but obviously a lot can change.

So simply for me, we only improve our depth if what we bring in, is better than goes out.

To be honest I'm surprised there hasn't been more talk of this. It actually makes the most sense out of all the crazy hypotheticals. Only talk has been is that King is keen to stay but you would think the suns would need an answer on what he wants to do long term otherwise trading as a pre agent when curnow is available is a no brainer for mine.

He would be dumb to leave now as he is approaching free agency, he would be leaving the possibility of a huge pay day and a decent crack at a flag.

I think he will definitely move back to vic but he will want to be a free agent so clubs will offer a heap of cash.

He'd be a good foil to McKay as more of a stay at home target who can get it through the big sticks. McKay can then roam a bit more as well as being a key target (without the sole responsibility).

If we don't ask the question, I'd be disappointed. If King is remotely keen to come back to VIC in his career - now might be the time.

Given Charlie's value is above King (arguably) and they want Charles, I'd ask for more - like Flanders or a FF.

But as I said, not sure it'd be an option.

Also - Rugged Blue Bagger I thought someone debunked the Fritsch talk a month ago in the No Discussion Thread?

King and Flanders means we lose Charlie for two quality players and imo improves our side, the FF is a gamble and who knows, turning Charlie in to 2-3 quality players would be great business.

It's early for the real deal to be taking shape.

Clubs are trying to let the pressure of Charlie wanting out to do the work.

Would not be shocked if we end up with a LOT of future picks which will let us essentially attack multiple trade periods in a row.

Sucks for near-term, but might be the wisest long term choice

When trade period starts and the whips get cracking, that’s when we’ll really see how serious these clubs that want Charlie are. We can sit back and watch them outbid each other until we eventually have a cracking deal in front of us.

Unfortunately I don’t think Sydney, Suns or Geelong can handle the truth.
