I think Stanley as emergency is only there is something happens to Blitz or SDK in the next 24 hours. They don't think he's quite right to play but if one of those two can't play, it's better to have Rhys as an emergency than try to get permission to bring him in or go in completely ****ed in the ruck.

I dont think they would name him if he wasn't fit and Scott basically said if he's fit they would play him so id expect he comes in either tomorrow night (likely) or the GF.
They are just playing games mate. He's only named as an emergency. So really, they haven't named him.
And yes, I heard Scott say he's a definite pick.
But guess what? He isn't picked.

Oh the weather front.

My friend works at the State Emergency Control centre, they had a big gathering there today. In their brief by BOM the fellow apparently said that it will start raining at 3/4 time, and that the winner will likely be whoever is infront at that point in the game.

Make of that what you will, but that to me says BOM are expecting that it will be relatively fine and then the heavens will open. The info those state control guys get is usually pretty accurate, certainly its a lot better than what us regular mugs get access to.
Lighting interruption against hawthorn would definitely be something

And I'm not sure he really lost his cool, with commentators even questioning a few of those free kicks - at times it seemed he was penalised for being stronger in the contest
Yeah some of those frees were absolutely BS - haven't seen more blatant double standards since Hawkins

Stanley would be picked if he was fit. He wouldn’t be named emergency if he wasn’t fit. This is a late change waiting to happen.
Yes! My first thought.

I’d love a late change for old time’s sake 😻

Or they are playing 3d chess with hawks to make them think he is playing.

I got a love reaction from Jeremy Cameron on fb today think it was a fake account but nice to think it was from Jezza hahaha

*Sure. If you agree with the data that Bailey Dale is the 6th best player in the league and Nick Blakey 7th then good on ya

That top 10 probably relative to position, Inside mids are compared to a pool that bottom outs averaging 20 disposals, rebounding defenders are pooled with small defenders averaging 8.

It's like all data science. All data sets have flaws, that's why you need the engineer who put the data together to talk through the conclusions.

Best is subjective, their model has always liked the Bulldogs since as far we have access to the data. It likes players that are efficient offensively, guys who do stuff the with ball that others don't.

it doesn't punish teams where their offensive efficency also facilitates efficency in their opposition.

in absence of a better model it is the one I use.

Or they are playing 3d chess with hawks to make them think he is playing.

Maybe but I'm not sure what benefit we would get out of that? Hawthorn aren't changing their side.

Why would we play clark instead of duncan?

Look if you knew you would be 40 pts up with 5 mins to go you'd play him for a farewell. But clearly if we lose a player to injury and have to use the sub early they are worried about Duncan's speed and running legs being exposed. Him and Guthrie wont play again.

Sam Mitchell was always the most graceless and whining interview as a player and now as a coach. I don't think he ever genuinely smiles about anything. He definitely has no sense of humour.
Aw come on - there's that time he feigned injecting himself to the Essendon players

Why would we play clark instead of duncan?
We have versatility across the field but if opened up in the guts or an injury to a key midfielder he comes in for that role.
Duncan can replace a half back, maybe a wing for a pinch, but that’s it. Bews can only play lockdown small defender. Knevitt brings versatility that exists in a few other best 22 already. My humble opinion at least…
