Not sure whether Fagan was simply bluffing. However, I found it extraordinary that he suggested in the GF press conference there's not only no risk having Neale play but they haven't thought about a plan B if he gets injured.

Wouldn’t expect a coach to undermine their captain and fitness staff to suggest they’ve planned for him getting injured.

Fagan and Plan B do not belong in the same sentence.

Part of why I have high hopes tomorrow. Apart from extra physicality, I expect to see the same attempt to short pass their way down the ground until they can bite off an ambitious kick into the middle.

Well that's obviously has to be my new avatar doesn't it? Pictures really do tell 1000 words 😂

Especially because that likely means Mullin goes into midfield on Dunkley or Neale until Fagan has to break glass because our midfield will batter theirs and McCluggage goes back into the middle.

I just really hope Mullin isn't in the d50, he gets caught out too often.

If McCluggage is in the Lions f50 that means they are down a competent forward to fit him in.

He literally destroyed Watson last Friday - such was Mullin's dominance in that match up over the first three quarters of the match, Mitchell moved Watson to defence to get him out of the forward 50

I think a lot of us look back at that clash with Sydney last year where Papley kicked 4 goals and will view Mullin as a greenhorn defender - that Sydney match was his 13th career game and he'd been the starting sub in 3 of those games

He now has 29 further games under his belt and doesn't look as out of place in defence as he once did

I think Mullin will end up being the best of our Irish players and as long as he wants to stay and does not get injured will end up playing over 200 games.

Neither have looked overawed in their two finals either. COS has just stuck to his role without fanfare like he always does, and I was impressed how well Clark adjusted after getting thrown in earlier than planned in the Prelim.
Clark has been the one that has impressed me a lot , first final and a PF one at that going in earlier than expected and did his job
