One thing that i noticed in the Grand Final and indeed the Preliminary Final - Brisbane used the "chip mark, chip mark" method to find holes/gaps in the opposition's offence when going forward.

Sort of reminded me of the West Coast and Hawthorn style when they won Premierships.

So much to say about this one. So many stories. Could not be more proud.

Hugh breaking his tag. Charlie proving the faith in continuing to select him. Lachie as sub. Fagan as a tactical, game day coach. The injuries. The draw. Rivals the amazing narrative of last year

We know our best is the best. To put it together on grand final day two years in a row is amazing.

I had my doubts throughout the year, and feel foolish now, but this team has proved to us that they thrive under pressure. Harlem Globetrotters stuff in the second half, we just broke them. We have so many players who play on instinct. The rest of the competition should be frightened.

What an amazing club to support.

A lot will disagree but honestly good on the Lions.

As a Freo fan when we were at our peak between 2010-2015 the Lions were bottom 4 and I reckon most of you were wondering then will they ever make the top 8 again let alone the dynasty.

Everyone seems jealous again your a force but they dont remember the lost decade of misery the true believers would have sat through from 2008-2018 where only 1 finals appearence was managed and numerous bottom 4 finishes where hope was ripped away Every off season when high draft picks walked out the door.

That for me makes me appreciate your success more then a Victorian team who hasnt had to do it the hard way like that.

For what it is worth, thought Darcy Gardiner had the best game of his career.

I find that to doubt just adds to the roller coaster of emotions over a season of Lions Footy. At this point it is all part of the tradition. This team doesn't play in Grand Finals without all of us riding that roller coaster and it makes the Premierships even more special (if you can survive the stress).

Unbelievable season again and I hope to never take all this for granted.

Trust me, you won't. When a team you support goes on a role and wins multiple Premierships in quick time as supporters you make the most of it because the ever evolving nature and landscape of the AFL changes very quickly and there is always new challengers waiting to pounce.

I don't reckon there's too many of us who are taken this for granted. We were the worst team in the comp or thereabouts for years, in what felt like an impossible environment to attract quality players (at value) to build towards success. I remember feeling there was just no way to see us getting out of that of that, like everything was stacked against us.

The turnaround has been unbelievable.Unimaginable.The turnaround of this club in all the facets of its operation has been a joy to follow. I think you can credit so much of it the appointment of Fagan. You can't overstate the impact he's had on our club.

Yep, I'd agree with all of that.

In all of the happiness that we are experiencing right now, I am still worried about the outcome for Starces career.
I hope for his sake he has signed a contract with someone and that means that he still has some income for a couple of years if he is forced to medically retire.

I don't think he could sign anything till after the Lions season ended.

He lost mega money tonight. Even if he is signed by West Coast (or us) it'll likely be one year contracts. They can't risk anything more.

And yep, the league could retire him without being signed and he'd be toast. Bloody tough industry this one.

As a Geelong supporter that was hard to watch but beautiful at the same time. The club just has a genuineness about it and the players really love each other, the coach and the club. Watching guys like Fletcher and the Ashcroft's that have been in the club since kids win a premiership is so good as well. Fletcher was amazing to watch today he was so clean and graceful. Neale is a modern day great and underappreciated in what he has achieved. Bailey has gone to new levels and Lohmann loves the bright lights, he is like a smaller version of Dermie. Look forward to watching the next phase and I hope we are good enough to keep up. PS- Dan Annabale is in my opinion the best player in this draft.
