imagine landing Tracc and Ah Chee and maybe G.Stevens, while port settle for Will Brodie and Jacob Wehr
Off field Port are killing it though, got rid of Hinkley/Davies, secured probably the best assistant coach in the land Andy Collins, highly respected assistant coach Luke Webster and it's very strongly reported Stewie Dew is leaving Brisbane for the Powa.

None of that means much if you aren't improving your onfield talent

Wonder if we tread carefully here, Gibbs and Carey were not the needle movers we thought they would be. Given we have recruited Cotton and have shaped some solid depth of talent on the list we can be flexible with our first round picks over the next two years.

Would we prefer to trade up in this years draft (using next years first) to get a Robey or Sharp that will be here for 10 years with the core group of Curtin, Draper, Rachele, Thilthorpe, Worrell and Michalanney and give us a better chance to compete in the long run or use picks for a tried and tested Petracca knowing best case we may get 3-5 good years out of him.

We've been pretty good in this regard in recent years so I'm a bit surprised how surprised all of you are? The only surprising thing is, is they've come in broad daylight. With Anna. So it's clear he's here on business and not pleasure.

Just a side note: I really wish people would stop saying pick 14 becomes pick 20 after academies. FA compo yes, but the academies picks no.

These Gold Coast and Brisbane players aren’t available to anyone but Gold Coast and Brisbane (at least until new changes come in). So it’s still the 14th pick for available players. Whether the academies slip in there making it a later pick has no impact on the available players. If they were available at 14 with no academies, they’ll still be there at 20 with academies.

1. 2 firsts to Melbourne for Petracca and F2.
2. Adelaide F2 to Brisbane for Ah Chee.
3. 3rd rounder to Geelong for Stevens.
4. Trade 2 3rds up to a second rounder to get Sumner-Pickett.
5. F/S Stevens with a fourth rounder.
6. Rookie upgrade.
Agree with the first three steps, not sure two thirds will get us in Latrelle range though

In: Petracca, Ah Chee, Stevens, 3rd, 3rd/Stevens, Borlase; McAndrew, Jones; Cotton
Out: Walker, Crouch, Smith, Murphy, Strachan, Jones; Borlase, Schoenberg; Gallagher

Would be happy with that
