The Rich get Richer; the poor get the picture.

The Scollo news is huge if true as he was seen as one of the major young talents that would drive Murrumbeena for the next 10 years and keep them relatively competitive in Div 1 while they grew the other talent around him from other shrewd purchases and their junior under 19 talent pool. Surely Murrumbeena can up the ante of his contract a little bit to entice him to stay. De La is going to yo yo from Prem A to Prem B in VAFA for the foreseeable future, so they are only viable very second year or so. Anyway, that's the way it is in that area with way too many teams in the catchment and teams stealing players from each other only to have them stolen back the next year. Alls fair in love, war and footy.

East Brighton Vampires will be the ones to watch. Deep pockets and hopefully some more shrewd investors at the helm.

The key is spreading the money around, spending wisely so you have an even team of 20 really good players rather than splashing the cash on one or two which makes you top heavy and too reliant on too few.

Simply the Div 1 standings can be basically affiliated to the amount that each team pays. Maybe Dingley pays slights more than Cheltenham but other than that, each team standing on the ladder is closely related to the amount that they pay their players or jobs handed out by affiliates of those clubs.
Poor comment and the simple way to judge without actual facts.

Cor Gobbler, it's basically 100% true. You only have to look at the standard of the players at each club to confirm it.

And I think Cheltenham Rosellas pays more than Dingley Dingoes and that's what got them the chocolates on grand final day. Jack Lonie and Jacob Edwards. That and a very strong under 19 program as well. You don't need to be winning under 19 premierships but you do need to be in the posiiton where your under 19s and producing senior footy players. Thats where St Pauls fall down. No under 19s so they aren't getting the replenishment and continued fresh opalescence of new willing young players coming though their system.

How much are these types of players getting paid nepo?

There is Good coin at the top end of the talent pool, let me tell you. As we know there are lots of different types of payments, some out the back of a truck and some are just the chance of jobs at high levels through firms that sponsor a particular club. All are off the books and not recorded by the SNFL in official salary caps.

I'm loving this from Nepo, what about mentioning the Ammos regarding payments from the back of the truck, but more so, the back of a Range Rover !!!!!

So true Blood Stained Angels. The Ammos or the Shammos as they should be known are much worse than the SNFL and literally don't care if the VAFA management know about payments under the table, jobs for the boys or "beer ute" duty money, "whale" sponsorships from wealthy supporters, or payments for goods and services. Each player in an Ammos team might have their own boat or at very least the petrol paid for by the club sponsor and some of these sponsors are through the roof with what they offer. Thats why they are called the Shammaters.

of course, winners are grinners, and the means always justifies the ends. The same thing has been happening since Adam was a boy and every time the powers to be try and stop it, it just manifests itself somewhere else until the powers to be don't even really care because the breaching of a salary cap or the paying of players in a competition that is meant to be pristine and virtuous is just too hard to fully arbitrate. Corruption is everywhere. Throughout all level of society and footy and in particular local footy is no different.

In the issue of payment, I explained it to you. Not everything is in money terms. There are kick backs, back of the ute gifts, flights, jobs for the boys and even more high scale things if you know what I mean etc etc etc.

For the Cheltenham Rosellas, to win 3 flags in a row is a mighty effort no matter what circumstances. 3 wins in a row is a dynasty. Justin Pickering goes out on a big bang and is a certifiable legend. Pickering took over as head coach from Des Ryan, who delivered the first flag of the Rosellas’ premiership streak, and will now bow out a two-time premiership coach after two seasons at the helm. That influx of new energy at the top has certainly worked well for the Cheltenham Rosellas, it will be interesting to see who gets the nod to replace Justin Pickering?

Siri, please tell me ...

if it was as obvious as you say, it would be too easy. These things are purposefully hidden. I have been involved at clubs and once you are aware of their financials, you would be shocked at who is being paid and sometimes it is second hand ie the father is being paid, or the club has paid the brother or other sibling of some star player for the redevelopment of their new house. Some of these guys who are Treasurers of these local footy clubs can get extremely creative with the way they pay for things that are indirectly related to paying star players or relatives.
Girlfriends and wives' families being paid for things that you can't really trace back to the star player. Or an associate of the club doing the plumbing at a star players house for free etc etc etc. there are many ways for the salary cap system to be beaten without the star player ever having to receive any money in their bank account.

There will be plenty of movement before the start of next year across the board. Some of the SNFL sides have had a rethink about the type of player they should pick.
