Picks 1,2,15,19,20 & 33 in any other year would be incredible and list/rebuild defining.

It's bizarre just how bad the draft hand becomes after free agency, academy & father son dilution, and further compounded by the shallow talent pool.

What a poker game this draft is going to be . Essondon with 3 early picks may want to jump over Richmond . Our cards will be played close to our chests if they have any brains and give Twomey no idea what we plan to do .

Would it even get to draft night though? West Coast traded pick three during the trade period, if Essendon don't wanna dick around and want to get a deal done and West Coast are more than interested then something will get done before then.

I for one will be keeping my head out of all this stuff on here unless something's reported by someone in the know. Will just be happy to have picks 1 and 2 and whatever happens after that will happen.

They are not going to finish below us, North, Richmond and Melbourne. They still have enough experience on their list to avoid bottom 4. It will probably be something around pick 8 - 10 after all the compo picks, F/S and academy BS.
North will go past them. Depending on Trac there's no reason the think that they can go past Melbourne.

Very high chance they are only better than us and Richmond, would not surprise me with a good run of injuries that one of us can catch them as well.

Dewar is soft as butter but has more talent in his little finger than Dev.
Better than Gross? Seriously? You have to be taking the piss!
Better than Bo? Give me a break! Whatever your smoking send some my way.
They are so unbelievably good that they helped us to a total of one win this season!

Based on evidence and not hysteria (your post)... It seems that you're the one that's delusional.
Take the pervebial chill pill and sit this one out

They just had a 6 win season and lost their last 13 games. Of their wins, 4 came against us, Norf, Tiggers and Dees.

They're losing Merrett, Draper and possibly Ridley.

I can honestly see them contending for the spoon next year.

With 2 brothers and a sister in Victoria and Harley having dated his sister. He's not half the player and the fiasco might not be the same in the first year but come second or third year it will be insanity if he plays and plays well.
I mean this is true for any Victorian player we draft and he turns into a gun. It’s no reason not to want to draft a player, hopefully VIC are losing their minds over duursma as that means he’s a gun for us.

Petracca was a pick2 draftee.

Do Melbourne want pick 2 from Adelaide. Could Dan Curtin be back on the agenda..or

Do Melbourne want pick 2 from Gold Coast. Could Jed Walter be on the agenda.

So much speculation before FA starts

You say “better than” .Are you taking into account the future? Coz that’s where you want to bring Dev. He’s reached his ceiling as far as I can see.I think Gross for example has a much higher ceiling and Bo’s is untapped.Off ya trot!

Do not agree the 2025 pool is shallow as some believe.

Rodriguez is now in the 25 range. A year ago he was touted as top 5.

Not being funny, but do you have a genuine draft watcher who is rating Sharp at number 1?
Would love for you to share
Attached is from Haggas. Also at various points on Zero Hanger has been projected at anywhere from 1-10. He's the most AFL ready player and his champs form was inspiring. Zero Hanger has had us linked to him a few times in the last few weeks at pick 2 following taking Duursma at 1.

His draft position 11 years ago doesn’t really hold much bearing.

This expectation that our 18-20yo recent draftees should be match winners already is so delusional. There are very few Harley daicos Ashcroft types. The fact we actually have one is pinch yourself stuff.

Gross and Bo will be fine..

Example
Zac Bailey.
Gun. Kick straight and he's the norm smith medalist.
Bombers offered 6yrs @1.3mil
But go look at his career stats. He really has only hit his straps the last three seasons.
The crucial stat, CONSISTENCY...he has played all 8 seasons for 166 games.
