It's all posturing from Melbourne and Media noise, but If Melb want a player in return from Petracca, they can simply take the picks that we give them, and go shopping for other available players. It doesn't have to be a Crows player, does it?
If they can turn someone's head from any of the other 16 clubs, then they can do that as 'part of the Adelaide deal'. Maybe they can turn the head of one of our players, but I doubt it will be a first choice player.

I can't help but think if I'm Petracca, I would lean towards GC.

At Gold coast he doesn't have to be they bang and bash explosive midfielder. He can just be the cream or the cherry on top. Float through the forward line and stints in the midfield whilst the young bulls do the hard work. He just needs to focus on receiving the ball and executing.

This extends his career, he has less accountability, but will still be celebrated, and they have a genuine chance to contend for a premiership.

Well that would be my pitch if I was GC.

If he comes to the crows he isn under immense pressure to be the answer, to be the difference, to be the one in the heat of the battle.

Does he actually want that heat at this stage of his career?

I can completely see a world where he picks the GC.

If that is his character and mentality, I wouldn't want him here, but I don't think it is.

Soligo is the closest player to a gun, young midfielder. You don't trade these assets when you're in the Premiership window. Trac won't win a flag on his own

Look at how many people believed the rumour about him being in Perth after ‘troller of the trolls’ on X posted something this morning. Post enough stuff like that Sam guy and even if only a couple stick, people start following your account like it’s gospel.
