Saw an opportunity to potentially pry a player out of another club. Had a red hot crack but were always up against it. In reality not many of the highest quality players move clubs, so certainly not a failure.

The way the Tylar Young situation is developing, I thought there must be a go home factor for West Coast to be in the box seat. Just checked and he was recruited from Frankston. If we are truly in the race to get him, then things are grimmer than I thought.

For some reason we don't appear interested in Young. But he does seem the obvious easy target.

Pretty funny that our main interests atm are Butts, Butters, and Budarick!

Id try and pry a superstar mid out (butters) and push Bont into the backline. I know it’s an extremely out there move but if we can’t land the A grade defenders we need another way to steady this defensive unit.

Because he isnt as good as the options we targeted and isn't worth the offers he is getting?
We were interest but got priced out much like with Jsos.
Im more then happy for power and co to set a price and stick to it, don't want to pay a C grader triple what they're worth just so it looks like we've done something.

I don't think Serong is what we need. Very much a third tall/interceptor, we already have JOD and Lobb who play the role better. We currently have no number 1 defender.

No he’s not his pressure acts aren’t that high and after 6 rounds he stop impacting on the scoreboard

Anyone else notice that when VDM was having a sh*t game after the contract extension (and let's face it most of his games were sh*t) he would have some sort of a niggle or injury but could always get up for the next game.

Yep we desperately need someone to put on the oppositions best forward.

Getting someone instantly makes Lobb and JoD much better as they can play the 2nd and 3rd KPD roles.

Looks like saints blinked here and ended up going back on not improving Wilkie's deal. If they didn't he would have requested a trade.

Now that the Wilkie speculation is over, the club must turn its attention to throwing everything at trying to get Butters this year.

An off season of Butters and Butts is still a huge win if we can pull it off.

Not fussed one bit about Buderick, doesn’t move the needle whatsoever.

Can’t fault the club here, went hard at a gun contracted player and caused a real stir.

I would seriously be considering a big play for Butters this year at this point.
