2025 List Management Discussion - Part 4

Now that our season is over, and news is starting to break - it's time for a fresh thread.

This thread is to discuss all things list management - trades, draft, free agency, delistings and more.
As we are now officially in our off-season, we'll be wanting to keep this thread more strictly on-topic than the previous iterations.
Be respectful. You are allowed to disagree with someone - but play the ball, not the man. Repeat offenders will have their posting rights revoked.

Thanks to Lore once again for this incredibly useful spreadsheet.

I love Windy. Rapt he’s staying.

But
This was the guy “supposedly” not in the best 22 when presented to Nas
( I believe he should be)

And
apparently low-balled in his first offer by the club.

Just thinking - does the club see him
the same way we do, and as potential captaincy material?

Personally, I’d give it to my new fave -
Maxy Hall 🤣

Moot point really, because Wilkie will get it no matter what Cornes thinks.

And he didn’t go anywhere either.

You are allowed to ask for more money.
Look as far as I know we still don’t know what the deal was. But if it was just asking for more money on the existing term, then fine, you can ask for it. But then can you ask for a reduction if a players is out of form? Not really.

So if Wilkie said, pay me more now or else, then in my book it’s not on.

If he said pay more more now and I’ll extend the term, then maybe.

If he said extend the term and pay me more for the extension, then I have no problem with it.

But until we know what the deal is, it’s difficult to know how to treat it.

Exactly this.

Unless your private chats are cleaner than a preachers sheets, refrain from commenting.
Spot on , I'm betting just about everyone has said something in private that wouldn't be tolerated in public but yet some still think they have the right to call him names because his message got leaked,
Those in glass houses shouldn't throw stones

We gave him Spud's number, so probably

St Kilda has given up a lot of information over the last few months trying to defend our big spending.

Not sure why our salary offers have been so public.

I have no doubt other clubs now know our salary situation much better as such we have lost some decent IP.

I'm no accountant but with a little research I've estimated our salary situation. which even with the big contracts still puts us in a very good position. We will still need

Not sure if I should share my estimated player salaries with the risk of other clubs getting a better understanding. Or even the players themselves.

If we pay Wilke what the dogs are reportedly offering and hold onto Marshall we could be in trouble next season.

Well fancy the master of “it’s not my fault it’s everybody else’s fault” saying that. Had his own head turned by shortcuts that destroyed a club, an AFL season and yet he remains.

He may well be correct in what he says, but please don’t lecture on what is right and wrong Lame Turd. You should not even have a voice in AFL. That you do is certainly a wrong in and of itself.

Well said James Hird, Wilkie has done nothing wrong, was offered a huge contract, had a look, Saints say, we will look after you, Wilkie says great, really wanted to stay.
Interesting the misogynist private schoolboy in TR said Wilkie recommitted only a few days after he met with Beveridge and other Bulldog officials. Obviously saw who runs the whole show and how everyone else is an acolyte at that club.
Just go forth and multiply Morris you brain-dead incel.

I love it when you get a new theme 😂

FWIW I couldn't agree more.

Fk that slimy maggot.

90% of the AFL media are a joke.

I don't think the club has put out any information about our spending?

Its all media speculation from manager tidbits that the chooks are fed. Its why the figures are inflated so much, its designed to put pressure back onto the clubs to pony up more money.

Its also why whenever they talk about specific contract details its completely out of their ass as all those contracts are private and unless a player willingly discloses something from it the other parties will be bound by privacy legalities.

Well I have had to move on from 'the Bulldogs are not a serious football club' after they proved to us they weren't 😉

Exactly. The people defending Morris are as complicit as he is.
No one is "defending him", but asking people to honestly think back to every private chat you've ever had and see if it would pass the 2025 social acceptability test before attacking him

99.99% of us would fall.

10-20% of us would have private chats that would make Andrew Zimmern feel sick in the guts.

I'm a bit torn on the Wilkie captain thing.

I can see both points of view.
Surely the whole should he, shouldn’t he Wilkie conundrum gets sorted by the playing list, who can factor in such things as “disloyalty”, having the vote anyway 🤷

I don’t think they have been made public. I think it’s just the media throwing darts and sensationalising everything for clicks.

TDK is “reportedly” getting $1.7m. Is that front loaded for the first 2 years and then say $900k for the next few years?
Is that maximum he could make eg: base salary of say $1.2m plus $x if he makes AA and another bonus of $x if he wins BnF?

We’re a professionally run outfit off the field. We won’t blow ourselves up like we have in the past with the salary cap. And it appears we have got ahead of the game with the new agreement coming in the next couple of years
