Losing contracted best 22 players for future picks is a fools game that we lived this year desperately needing a full back and watching barrass play for another team whilst we still hadn't been paid
I guess I didn't mind that one as much because the return was better and he clearly didn't fit into our next premiership window. The calculus on Ryan is different though; if he stays and plays at a similar level to last year (which wasn't anything amazing, just pretty good) he'd get a band 3 contract which is just another second round pick. So do you hang onto a pretty good player and get another year out of him, or trade him for the same thing you'd have gotten if you'd kept him? Seems like a pretty straightforward decision.

That should be negotiating position with the Saints, either find a way to give us a first round pick or move up a few slots in the first round, or else he's playing out his contract in the west.

Also has anyone been able to shed some light on like…why the **** this campaigner wants to come to us? He’s not from WA, he’s already getting good minutes on a shit team, Richmond lifted their offer when this all came out.

Have we just been nominated by the stupidest person in football?

Wants to play with Harley.

Well, we need more grist for the KPD mill. We can't keep playing Ginbeast at FB as soon as Harry breaks.

  • There's a connection to Mini, Baker & Graham
  • We've offered him 3 years
  • mAtThEw cLaRkE commitment

He did crossover with McQualter at the Tiges. Not his line coach, but he started the year McQualter was interim coach, so possibly liked playing for him better?

Tigers have lifted their offer to three though as well in response.

I’m happy to have him, frees Ginbey up to be an absolute sicko not our main KPD1, but I’m just surprised it’s come to this for a non WA bloke who is already playing good minutes.

How many list spots do eagles have in Tyler Young takes one? Including the rookie allocations from assistance package?

Alex Neal-Bullen - under contract - went for pick 28 which became 32.

A 27 year old defender that has played a career total of 35 games and isn't best 22 in a team that has won 7 games in two years is worth a token pick past 50.
Maybe we prepaid and pick 13 last year was for Baker and Young?

Luckily also gave Sandy a two year extension. Will now undoubtedly overpay again giving Essendon front spot for the GCS pick 7 and not get up Blight who came free of charge.

Worth noting that Richmond got a good look at Young and Blight, offered a three year deal to one and delisted the other.

Both mick ablett and jasper chellappah have said we should pick dursma and sharp on SEN today. Seems like cal twomey says dursma and duff tytler
Ablett also said we should focus on the SA boys also, likening it to how Brisbane brought in a bunch of National academy & Vic country boys when they were down the bottom to help them settle.

Absolutely a good point but do either move the needle much on field? Probably not, but one is free of charge and one we’ll pay overs for.

Blight’s issues sounded more attitude than ability. The delisting may have been the kick up the arse he needed.

Eight players off the senior list assuming Allen, Ryan and Chesser all get to other clubs - three retirements and two delistings.

Starcevich and Young in and Dewar having to be upgraded would mean there’s five senior list spots for the draft (or more recycled players).

At this stage we’ve got the four new rookie spots and that’s it. McCarthy and Newton joining mid season took us two over, Dewar (upgrade) and Rawlinson (delisted) coming off gets us back to our full complement pre-assistance package. Livingstone (and possibly Champion) might yet be cut creating further spots.

Champion's reportedly re-signed for one year.

Not everybody we chase needs to be a superstar to be worth the effort. If we think this Richmond bloke would be best 22 for us and is only going to cost a late pick then it is worth doing even if he is never going to be a McGovern or McIntosh. We are all waiting for some superstar recruit to come and save us which is never going to happen. We just have to keep building the list one brick at a time.
