2025 Draft Order

Current Draft Picks:
Round 1: 1, 2, 13
Round 2: 34, 41
Round 3: 53, 58 (These picks are in excess of available list spots so will be forfeited if we don’t consolidate our 2025 picks up the order or trade some for future picks)

List Spots Available (39 of 48):
• Main list (33 of 38) - 5* (in: Starcevich, Young out: Allen, Ryan, Chesser, Hunt, Petruccelle, Jamieson)
• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)
• Cat B rookie list (1 of 2) - 2 (out: Livingstone)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Matt Clarke wraps up the trade period - 6PR

Cal suggesting on TR that the Dons may come for pick 1 with the view being that they go with Duursma V3. This was in response to a listener question rather than being raised as actual mail.

Still running with Duurs and CDT and the clear 1 & 2 talents...

He also admits to not know any of the order after those 2 either.

That IS interesting.
I think there will be massive shifts in the draft order with all these top players moving clubs.
I would be willing to throw some picks at RICH to get pick 4 if it means Sharp and Cumming are part of the trade of picks!

Very happy with the upcoming acquisitions of Young and Robertson. Both will cost very little capitol and at the very least raise our floor but potentially play a role in our staring 22.I'm also content the club is doing some additional investigation on Starcevich. If we are happy to proceed i back us in.

I hope to god however we steer clear of Clayton Oliver. He's fat and lazy and his off field issues are the last thing we need with a young list. His decline has been startling and he's not exactly going to be a role model for Hewett, Harley and co.

If Demons are prepared to dump him and chew up a fair chunk of his contract too then they're expecting at least a first round pick for him.

Neale and Steele are one thing. Both offer leadership and good examples in regards to preparation and training for our youth.

Oliver does not and if you think he's going to magically rediscover his form coming to a team at the bottom of the ladder you'd be sorely mistaken.

Interesting...
(Currently pick 3, but becomes 4 after O.Allen compo)

Suns might be interested if they want to get Petracca or Curnow. Their 2026 academy crop is not looking like it would need a R1 to match.

Tigers get Suns F1 and will angle at the Port R1 but may well just get the Suns R1.

That said on Curnow, I suspect the Blues would prefer the Suns F1.

The below was in a fox footy update

This is how we should be looking to add Robertson to our list. He has no trade value as he was probably going to be delisted by Brisbane anyway

And getting him onto the rookie list keeps our main list spots open which we will for the draft
Does the player get to set terms on that type of listing ?

Well if Starc is coming via Trade we might aswell just tap Dev onto that trade.

I'd be happy with Starc & Dev for 32. Will likely end up the compo pick though. Good old 2 for 1

Yeah nah, this is what I'm afraid of.

Starcevich and the risk that comes with him is not worth pick 19. Devon should be totally free at this point, given his lack of contract, lack of worth to them and impending delistment. Only reason they haven't announced he'll be off their list yet is because they're trying to milk a pick for him from either us or Bulldogs.

Basically the opposite of what dickhead Nesbitt did when Brander was out of contract and also likely to be delisted.

At no point should adding Dev to our team suddenly sway the value of Starcevich.

100% this.

Even if they're not out and out guns, they've both walk up starts to our side and make us better.

Hopefully we see some competitive results next year. Exciting times ahead with the 3x first rounders coming into the mix as well.

Surely we can't be the dumbsh*ts to take Oliver!

It'll be the worst trade decision since.... Starcevich

Oliver is a lot of things but fat and lazy are not it.

I barely remember this happening last year, so when I heard about it again a couple of weeks ago, I thought I must have been missing something, because surely something this insane would make an impression.

But no, Norf really did trade their future first for 27 and Richmond's second this year. Pick 3/4 for two mid to late 20s picks.

Can a court appoint a football club a legal guardian?

Needed but cutting it fine - relying on a compromised draft this year and next year to get the foundations right.

  • Gawn 33
  • Viney 31
  • Melksham 34
  • Tmac 33
  • Salem 30

  • May 33, gone
  • Oliver 28, gone
  • Petraca 29, likely gone
  • McVee 22, gone

Tough times ahead
