• Brandon Starcevich arrives at West Coast in a three team deal
• Tylar Young (Richmond) arrived at West Coast in exchange for Pick 38.
• Deven Robertson (Brisbane) has agreed to join West Coast and will be signed on to the rookie list after being delisted by Brisbane

Out:

• Oscar Allen joins Brisbane as a FA - West Coast receive Pick 2 as compensation
• Liam Ryan and a 2027 R3 pick has been traded to St Kilda for a 2026 R2 pick
• Campbell Chesser has been traded to Carlton for Pick 41
• Jayden Hunt announces retirement
• Jack Petruccelle, Callum Jamieson and Loch Rawlinson not offered new contracts
• Coen Livingstone joins the list of players not offered a new contract

• Jamie Cripps and Malakai Champion seem to have been offered new contracts despite there being no official announcement. Means that all players out of contract for 2025 have been given new contracts despite or removed from the playing list

• Cat A rookie list (5 of 8) - 3* (in: Robertson (pending), out: Rawlinson)

* Based on Dewar being upgraded after the maximum 3 years on the rookie list. Hutchinson may also have been upgraded but this isn’t confirmed - if it is we will have 4 main and 4 rookie list spots open

* Matthew Clarke has stated we have 5 main list spots

Not a great example since Hogan got out of Vic, went home to Perth and Freo and still ran off the rails.

Took a third club and his last chance to get him right.

A bit obvious, as in Oliver leaving home and getting his STG.

An anonymous club doctor estimated up to a third of players are regular illicit drug users

Which is why the Vic outage over Eaglesdrugsgate was over the top - yeh our guys did dumb stuff, but every other club had similar drug problems, like injunctionclub

They found it so easy to point the finger & hate on us while ignoring the bigger problem

But pretty confident Eagles are one the cleaner clubs in the league now because of it

Not an Oliver fan at all just saying a move to the other side of Oz maybe what works for him.

May he also always desperately need a crap with ibs like symptoms every time he watches a goal scored against Essendon.

If we get Dev, wonder if that would change our thinking with possibly Sharp as one of our first 2 selections.

Not sure a midfield with both Dev and Sharp would work that well

Dev is a stop gap and senior body to protect the kids .

Sharpe is our future extractor

Try 800k-$1m heavily back ended and we’d need to give Melbourne a good 1R if we aren’t taking his salary.

MCQ will know exactly what we’re dealing with. He’ll either be straight in or as I suspect, straight out.

Id throw the Hawk pick (~#20) if that's what it takes.
Agreed, I would be filthy if he pulled a JUH and ****ed off.
Just seems the type to love his footy but have idle hands otherwise, which is why a change of scenery may be good.

Yep like the addition of Dev, smart choice by him over the Doggies. Kicking is his worry but will give his all at crash and bash centre bounce stuff and is plenty of solid pre seasons. Too good for state league but will he be an AFL player? He’s about to get his chance and will have no excuses.

Young seems like a perfect buy low addition. From all reports will be plug and play as our KPD. Richmond fans not happy to lose him.

If the Starcevich trade happens it will be interesting to see where we go to next.

Ruck and another ready made mid would be handy. Tom Berry seems to be linked and probably happens now we missed on Butler.

Backs best 23 imo look AFL finals ready if Young can fill that role. Edwards looks at the level but probably still has a question mark.

I think our forwards can do the job with supply.

If they can get that midfield up and about it would be huge.

I can’t imagine we are trading in more than 3 guys. Ergo a ruck and berry outside of ssp seem unlikely.

Assuming BS joins us that’s 4 Main list sports (assuming Cripps is main list) left.

Given we have 5 picks inside the top 20 + nga/fa who likely get bid on, we have our work cut out for us already to get the list in a position to achieve our draft goals. Getting any other trades in makes it almost a certainty we lose one of banfield/evans/williams.

Barnett, HJ and Bazzo/cripps to RL need to happen already imo.

Sharp will take time to be the tough inside mid. We currently have Yeo playing the role and his ability to stay fit is not great. Dev will be a very adequate deputy alongside Harley until we get players fit or developed.

I am all ok on splitting 1 but Sharp is a high priority at 2. Once Sharp is ready, then Dev goes back to being depth.

That can't happen until draft day.... well the delisting part can so we have the main list spaces, but the putting them on the rookie list can't.

I would be all for a 1 strike, name and shame, mandatory 10 week ban along with out of competition testing.
Something akin to gambling on your own games & match day positives would sort things out.

Just don't think Oliver is a good fit for a young squad like the eagles. Too many young impressionable players that could be influenced by him. Not just from an illicit drugs perspective but an attitude and training perspective especially over the pre-season.

Yep. We’ll need to tell Lions to delist Dev so we can pick him up and get him on the rookie list (not main list) to leave picks free for matched bids on Banfield/Williams if they occur. Probably means we will pay PP for Starcevich.

Even that would only mean 5 list spots including for matched bids, likely resulting in taking pick 1,2 and the highest pick we can trade up to. Not being able to prelist NGAs has really ****ed us, looks like list management didn’t plan for it.

Ouch. I see you must be a great believer in the US legal system and punitive damages. Punish and then kick them again.

These AFL players are on good money but hardly demi-god salaries (or al least not many of them are on huge $$). In competition testing for recreational drugs is enough, but they need to let of steam (without putting on weight). Even in the US, drug taking is a slap on the wrist (especially the roids in baseball).

Different if it is performance enhancing drugs
