Regardless of what people in here think, there's be very few people from Melbourne who would choose to live in Adelaide over the GC.

It's not even that bad. Sure, Surfers is a bit of a shithole, but there's lovely spots on the hinterland that would be more than worth to buy a property on.
It amazes me the attitude that Adelaideans have to their own city.

I moved interstate long ago thinking, who would want to visit our boring burg? Let alone move there.

I have since met many locals (NSW) who have been there and........ they friggin love it.

It's funny when they start listing all the places they visited. Central Market, Handorf, Birdwood Museum, Adelaide Oval, Football Park in the old days , "The Bay", Brighton Beach, Port Adelaide, Mount Lofty, Barossa Valley, Zoo Pandas.

and I think yeah, I miss Adelaide.

I'm convinced if the Petraccas had spent more than 2 hours there, the Misses might have realized what she had been missing out on all of her Melbournian sheltered life.

......Anywho.....good luck on the Gold Coast.

‘Organic growth’ hasn’t ended in a premiership for us this century, yet
We're ****ed if our starting midfield has Peatling and Berry in it.

Well we'll still win games, but we're not contending with those guys in the heavy lifting roles.

We’ll see, they can easily adjust their splits to both be the bull .
Although outside, Kelly’s minutes need to be filled and I think the anonymity of NSW may suit Clarry
more than Adelaide with all the goings on.
Possibly ....but can Green & Oliver play other roles, when not in the Midfield .....seems a bit like the Grundy / Gawn pairing at Melbourne ....good in principle, terrible in practice ...neither could play as Forwards

Nah ...I tend to believe that the asking price was going to be too high by MELB ....B4 we committed, us and Petracca's camp would need to have been satisfied a "fair" deal could be done

The fact the Crows posted some uncertainty about getting a "fair" deal done YESTERDAY ....was a bit of a red flag IMO

We'll never actually know which came first, Petracca choosing the GCS, or us saying any potential deal was going to be too rich

I disagree. We wouldn't have him visit and do a medical if we didn't know the ballpark terms.

Certainly Berry has done his dash in my mind ....Peatling, we need to see a 2nd year, to see if he can elevate his game to another gear ....I don't think we saw the best of Peatling this year

I agree, having spent almost 25 years in Sydney I really miss almost all of Adelaide. I don't miss Port Adelaide of course.

Peatling is better in the role that Taylor was playing IMO. Has good goal sense and can work up and down the ground.

Unfortunately he gets pushed off the ball far too easily in close.

What did bigman say.... something about reading the tea leaves.
I’m willing to concede that what Twomey said may be true.

DJ75 made a good point - the Vic media love to take a dump on us at any opportunity. Twomey also doesn’t appear to have much love for us compared to the likes of Ess, Powa etc.

So for him to say that, makes me think it could be true to at least some extent.

I still maintain that the wind was always blowing with Petracca to GC, from media reports to his attitude and everything in between. I’m not convinced we were ever a serious contender, for a number of reasons.

Players meet with Clubs during seasons now ....generally on the down low

And no, there's been zero discussion on whether a fair trade can be done, on these in-season meet ups

If you buy a car, do you sort out the deal first ....or select the car first, then do a deal ....it's the latter, everytime

Not surprised when they’re replacing him with the exact same type of player who will take most of his minutes, it’s why I was always so confused at their desire for Petracca. Maybe they knew Humphrey was always a flight risk?
You're not surprised, I bloody well am, Bailey Humphrey is absolutely projecting as being a similar talent to Petracca, one is 30 the other 21.
I'd almost argue Humphrey is capable of the same output as Petracca in 2026.

Who would you take out of Petracca and Humphrey if both wanted to come to the Crows? For me it's Humphrey and it's not even close.

I don't disagree ....he did though, have a better season at GWS than Peatling's first year at the Crows

Was it the role, the Coaches had him play, which needs massaging ?

Think it's worth the punt on Oliver. If we only need to pay say $850k of his salary and pick 2 or something it's worth a shot.

And people change what they are willing to take for that car if someone else starts making offers.

Do you think it's the coach desperate for results now rather than a more long-term view for GC preferring Petracca to Humphrey?

Yeah but you don’t go shopping at Mercedes if you can only afford a Hyundai. You do tend to shop in the ball park to start with.

Not when you've got elite talent like Finn Callaghan, Josh Kelly etc to feed it out to you don't.

Seems odd to push Humphrey out for Petracca, will burn them long term if that is the case
Prob doesnt bode well for team culture either

Sadly I don;t even think we will be in the conversation with Humphrey, it will be Victorian clubs and imagine what sort of trade the Suns will want as he still has years left on contract

There's a possibility that they already knew Humphrey was going to explore his options hence their interest in Trac.

I don't think GC are pushing Humphrey out .....quite the opposite IMO

This is more player led than Club
