I went to footywire thinking, "Surely they'll have something for him ..."
View attachment 2444990

Upside: he knows exactly what he needs to work on, and has it common with a number of our players already. A chance to really collectively focus on something ...

Goal kicking accuracy of 37.4% career and 28.6% last year. So even more upside. A real fixer-upper.

edit: but yes I was given hope by this:

All jokes aside I think we know well and truly what a bad game for him looks like.

If you look at a good game for him such as the quoted post below you see that in any kind of contest he's generally handpassing. Then in space his kicking is actually fine because he's not under pressure.

This year his kicking stats are probably up there with the worst in history because he just slammed it on the boot every time. He could not get any space at stoppages which i am putting down to him being rushed back early from the syndesmosis.

I don't know if you can play both him and Bruhn though which is a curve ball i didn't expect

The good thing about bringing in an established player is you don't have to guess how he'll hold up against a specific club.

Here is his highlights from last year against a midfield of Neale, Dunkley, Berry, McCluggage. 3 brownlow votes with the 2 and 1 going to D'Ambrosio and Amon.

Massive 'if', of course. But if Curnow can get properly up and going again, that would be a win for the Swans. Without bringing a quality key forward into the mix, that list will be going nowhere over the next few seasons.

I think the Cats are not being overt about Curnow because they burnt themselves badly over Oliver last year. He would have been very handy on GF day.
Oliver would have been handy on gf day?

You havin a laff?

Is Alex Davies still rumoured to be considering leaving?
Unfortunately the silly-duffer re-signed after Pickwick promised him the world last year.
Hopefully he has realised he'd been hoodwinked... and decides he wants out.
Nice player.

Huh? Are you seriously insinuating that there is an anti-Geelong bias when it comes to free kicks?

We conceded a lot of very puzzling ruck infringement frees this year and received very few. Stanley repeatedly being penalised for "blocking" when the other bloke's trying to swing him around by the waist with both arms, that kind of thing. I think if any of our ruckmen started crashing in with their knees they'd be treated pretty uncharitably.

I'd say OHenry, this years first and next years second seems reasonable when compared to other trades we've made for stars like Danger and Cameron.
Carlton aint falling for that.

A 20s & 40s pick + a VFL player for a contracted 2x Coleman medalist star.

Gotta remove the Geelong goggles.

You don't think a big bodied extractor going head to head with their extractors would have made a difference?
A well below average big bodied extractor?

No, he would not have made any positive difference.

If it was the 2021 version of Oliver? Yes. The 2025 version? Hell no - he is crap
