I get the angle but honestly, we’ve essentially got Ryan starting then under him worner , Draper followed by Chapman, banfield can play a role there too
That backline doesn’t need his type it needs speed and groundball getting ability

Unless jai can transform his talent to the fwd line(or maybe we change tact with Draper I just don’t see the point

I guess if you liked Starcevich as a defensive stopper Bews might be a moneyball play for the same role, if you were confident he could regain best form at 32. I think McVee is a far better outcome for us!

I agree

Serong is exactly the sort of trade that makes sense for a bottom 6 club - a fringe player that can't crack best 22 for a top 4 club but will play every game for a rebuilding one.

He is the sort of trade that makes less sense for a team that is already top 4 or had ambitions that it should also be top 4.

It's exactly the same as Roberton to the eagles, he can't crack it at Brisbane, it makes sense for the weags, but would make much less sense for other contending teams (as an aside I swear some of the same people taking cheap shots at the eagles for getting Roberton are talking up us getting Serong)
